T his sweet tea cup pattern is so colourful. It makes me want to invite some friends over for tea and cookies! The sweet sorbet colour pairs so elegantly with blushing bride. The Double Joy Z fold looks impressive when you open the card but is relatively easy to construct.
Project Recipe
Basic White Card Base: cut basic white cardstock at 8 1/2" x 5 1/2". Position it in a LANDSCAPE orientation and score at 2 1/8 and 4 1/4. Fold in a mountain then valley type format (see picture as a guide)
Cut designer series paper of your choice and adhere to the front panel and large inside panel of the white cardstock. Use the following measurements: for front panel, 5 1/4 by 1 3/4" and for the large inside panel, 5 1/4 by 4". Use adhesive to secure in place on your card. I used corresponding patterns from the Tea Boutique DSP.
Cut sweet sorbet cardstock at 6 1/2 and 3 3/4". Looking at it in a LANDSCAPE orientation score at 2 1/8 and 4 1/4. Fold and burnish in s Z fold manner (peak, valley, peak).
Cut two pieces of white cardstock in the following measurements: 2 x 3 1/2" (for the sentiment) and 1 3/4 x 3 1/2 (to stamp your own dsp)
Cut a piece of DSP 2 x 3 1/2" that will match/complement your DSP choices for your white card base. Adhere this to the middle sweet sorbet panel.
Using the two pieces of white cardstock you just cut... take the largest piece and stamp your sentiment. I used one from the Cup of Tea stamp set and sweet sorbet ink.
Now take the smaller piece and use a favourite small stamp to make your own DSP. I used the flowers and buds from Cup of Tea stamps and sweet sorbet and blushing bride ink.
Adhere both pieces of white cardstock to their corresponding panel on the sweet sorbet.
Now stick the two "Z fold" parts together. This means you will be attaching the smaller red piece to your white base. ( You will need to think about what goes where. Otherwise you could have your whole card sticking together).
a) Adhere the back sentiment section of the sweet sorbet to the large dsp section of the white base. You will want the sentiment piece centred on the DSP.
b) With the small sorbet card closed, fold the front panels of the white base into a closed fashion as well and tuck it under the top/front sweet sorbet panel. Put adhesive under the sorbet front panel just where it rests on the white front cardstock panel and adhere together.
Decorate the front sorbet homemade DSP panel as you see fit. I used the Cup of Tea dies. Embellish as desired.
