T his fun fold "Squash Card" is a cute little gift card holder. It opens up in a very impressive way and looks like it would be difficult to create, but is actually very easy! Using the Cup of Tea stamp set and Tea Cup dies, it lends itself to a super-cute tea bag holder!
Project Recipe
For card base: Cut cardstock 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 and score at 4 1/4 (I used starry sky for the card base)
Rotate your card stock 90 degrees and score again at 4 1/4.
Score once horizontally from point to point.
After burnishing well along the horizontal and vertical score lines, fold the two diagonal score lines to the inside and burnish again. This is what makes the fun fold.
Cut a piece of ribbon 18 inches. With the card folded in a closed position, place the ribbon evenly around the card with the ends pointing towards the right. Use a small piece of tape to secure the ribbon to the front of the card. Then tie the ribbon in a bow at the right side to hold the card together. Once the ribbon is tied, then you can decorate the front.
For the gift card/tea bag holder, cut a piece of cardstock 4 1/4 x 2. Use double sided tape along the bottom and sides only to secure in place. This will ensure it is sturdy enough to hold it's contents.
You may decorate as you see fit. Each square section is a 4x4 piece of designer series paper. For the triangular sections, you cut the 4x4 piece diagonally through the middle. One of the inside square sections is for your sentiment and personal message. The other square is for the gift card holder.
