H i! I originally cased this card about a year ago, and I’m not sure who deserves the kudos... But I revamped it and gave it my own spin. I was asked for the directions, so put this together today! It’s a bit more involved, but not too difficult! Let’s have a go at it!
Project Recipe
This card has lots of parts, I will try to simplify best I can! Start with Powder pink card stock. Cut one piece 4” x 8 1/2” score at 5 1/2” & 8 1/4”. Cut a second piece **2” x 8 1/2”, score at 2 3/4” & 5 1/2”. Fold as shown.
Next several pieces are from the Painted With Love DSP that has the little hearts on a white background.
You’ll need ** 2 at 1 3/4” x 2 1/2”, 1 at 1 3/4” x 5 1/4”. 2 at 2 1/2” x 4”, & 1 at 4” x 5 1/4”.
Using Snail Adhesive, attach the DSP centered on each folded section as shown.
Next are the bits in Whisper White. First the crib ends You will need 2 at 2” x 2 1/4”. Use the Tag topper punch on the top. On the bottom use the Everyday punch as shown. Now use the Detailed Gate Thinlet and cut out one with your Big Shot. Carefully cut out the parts as shown, which will Be the crib sides and the top header.
Now for the crib sides, still using Whisper White. You will need 2 pieces 1 3/4” x 3”, score on the 3” length sides 1/4” from the sides. Between those, horizontally score 1/2 “ from the bottom, and then on the vertical sides score 1/2” from each side. Look at the photo cause it’s kind of confusing. Then use the Everyday punch sideways at the bottom. Then cut out the rectangle as shown, and fold on the 1/4” score lines.
Glue the cut out pieces from the gate on the crib sides, and the top of the end as shown, then glue all the pieces together.
The cirb should look like this.
Line the little z fold up to the top of the bigger card and attach with snail tape like I’ve done here.
Cut one more piece of the DSP, at 3/4” x 3”, score at each end at 1/4” in and fold. It will go inside the crib to look like a mattress. Use the opposite side than the hearts. Glue in place about a 1/4” from the front of the crip even with the bottom rung.
Now glue the left and back sides to the card, lining up the feet with the bottom of the card, it should easily fold together to fit in an envelope. I also added some little heart embellishments to the end of the crib.
On whisper white, use the largest oval from the Stitched framelit die and cut it out. Stamp Hello Baby on the bottom in black. Next stamp a teddy bear from the Cookie Cutter Christmas set in Crumb Cake ink, and cut out with the Matching punch. stamp the ears on the two little circles and glue to its head. Stamp the bow in pink and color the little heart pink and glue on the teddy. Add pearls for buttons and stamp the face in black. Now put dimensionals on the back and adhere to the oval. Put more dimensionals on the back of the oval and attach to the left side of the card.
Stamp with the Moon Baby stamps, the umbrella baby, the toys and 3 stars. Color with Stampin blends and fussy cut them out
Use dimensionals once again on the baby and adhere to the right side of the card. Then attach the toys to the crib. I put the rabbit on the little mattress piece, and the bear & lamb on the crib. Take the stars and glue them to some yellow bakers twine and then use scotch tape to hang them above the crib like a mobile on the inside.
That’s a tough one to describe, I hope it was clear enough between the directions and the pics! You can easily do this for a baby boy by using blues, or if you don’t know what the baby is, do green, yellow or lavender! I guarantee it will be a hit with the baby’s momma! Thanks for visiting my Blog!
Happy stamping!
**This is my original try from last year for a boy instead of a girl. You can see the crib is a bit different, but it’s cute too! Looking back I think I did the top piece about 1 1/2” instead of 2” and it does look a bit better. So in that case cut the base color piece 1 1/2” x 11 and the DSP pieces 2 - 1 1/4 x 2” , 1- 1 1/4” x5 1/4”. Either way it will work! ☺️
