H appy August everyone! This week I thought I'd share the new Fastened With Love set...because I have a family member about to have a baby any day! I haven't seen much out there yet with this set, it is so adorable...honestly I'm a bit surprised! So I've created 3 cards to share with you today. Let's get started.
Project Recipe
You can make so many baby cards with this set!
There are blocks, ABC letters, cute little animal faces, a bib, a cute sentiment and words...you can even make safety pins! I think my favorite stamp is the rubber ducky! I chose to use pastel colors and Grey inks, just for a softer look overall. And for one card I did sneak in some stamps from the Around the Corner stamps too. All card bases are measured 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".
First off is a card for a girl. Of course I used Powder pink for the base! Start this card by randomly stamping the animal faces, (the bear, bunny, monkey & elephant) all over the front of the card in Powder Pink ink. Take a piece of 1/2" pink ribbon and paste it down the left side about a half inch in. Then take the 1/8" White ribbon and adhere it down the center of the other ribbon. Tie a bow and place it towards the top. Stamp the sentiment on some Whisper White (1/2" x 3 3/4") in Basic Gray. I used a scrap of DSP from the Garden Impressions set, (1" x 4 1/4") and put behind the sentiment and attached it to the card with Stampin Dimensionals. Stamp 4 of the safety pins and add one of the animal faces to each. Color with Stampin' Blends Markers, fussy cut out and attach to the right side of the card as shown. Use Dimensionals for some depth, and you have a super cute card!
Now for a Boy's card. Start with Pool Party card stock. Now using the bear's face and the little bow tie stamps, stamp down the right side of the card as shown. Make sure they come close to touching as you alternate the direction with each bear. Now fussy cut out the right side . Place some silver 1/2" Washi tape or glitter paper along the inside right edge. It will show up when you close the card. Add some silver washi and some Bermuda Bay ribbon, both 1/8" wide along side of the bears. Stamp the Bib on some Whisper white in Basic gray, add the bear in the center and the word "cute", and add some stars to the background of it. Color with Stampin blends, fussy cut it out, and make a little bow for the top. Glue a Pearlized Doilie on the card then place the bib on the center with dimensionals. Last thing to do is stamp the words "Baby" and "you are loved" below the bib.
Don't know if the baby will be a boy or a girl? No Problem, here is a card that will work either way!
I used Mint Macron for the base and a Whisper White piece 4" x 5 1/4". I Used a couple of stamps from the Around the Corner set to create a little design in the corners. Then I stamped a bunch of Rubber Duckys so they were stacked on top of each other. I made a little mask so I could stamp neatly. (Create a mask by stamping the ducky on a scrap paper and cutting it out, place that on top of an already stamped image so you can overlay the stamp and not make a mess). Make 3 duckys that you fussy cut out to place on the stack too.
Color the duckys with Daffodil Delight and the beaks Pumpkin Pie. Do the same thing when you stamp the blocks. Cut them out as well and color with Stampin Blends. Place them on top of the duck pile with dimensionals, stamp the sentiment right on the base card. Add a little Mint Macaron Bakers twine bow and some Basic Pearls (I colored them pink with Stampin Blends!) Did I mention I love the Duckys? LOL
So there are my 3 baby cards, I hope you liked them!
