A
large flip top box (original instructions by Sam Hammond) made with items from the Sun Prints Suite (158805)
This box is quite large, measuring 2" x 8" x 3".
Project Recipe
The instructions for the box are pretty easy.
Paper – 12 x 12″
Score on the FIRST side at 2, 10″
Score on the SECOND side at 2, 5, 7, 10″
After scoring, you will cut the side with the 2″, 5″, 7″ and 10″ scores, cutting just up to the first horizontal scoreline. Flip to the opposite side and do the same thing. Then notch the 3 narrow tabs, this gives your finished box a much cleaner appearance. (Note: the larger tabs at the top of this pic appear that they are shorter. They are not, they were just slightly folded forward when I took the picture)
Next, you will apply glue to the notched flaps. It’s important to remember that you put adhesive on the side of the DSP that you want to be on the outside of the box.
This is how my Designer Series Paper looked with the adhesive applied (see the areas highlighted in yellow)
Then you start to assemble the box. You will glue the first 4 tabs to create the box bottom, then glue the top 2 tabs to form the lid.
And you have a finished flip-top box!
Decorate the box however you want. This is what I used for my project.
