T
his card was inspired by Susan Campbell and uses SU!'s Deckled Circle dies.
This could also be used for Mother's Day, birthdays and many other occasions just by switching out the sentiment.
Note: The flowers on this project use retired SU! punches and White Crinkle ribbon.
Project Recipe
Measurements:
Petal Pink or Lemon Lolly (or your color choice)
8 1/2" x 5 1/2" - for 2nd largest circle
and 4th and 5th from the smallest
circle dies
6" x 5 1/2" - 3rd largest circle die
Basic White - inside layer
6" x 5 1/2" - you'll cut this circle in 1/2
Scrap for sentiment
Natural Polka Dot ribbon for brim (or what you have on hand)
3 1/2"
Ribbon for front of hat (I used retired Crinkle White ribbon)
9 1/2"
Various scraps to create the small flower. I used retired SU! punches.
Scrap of Soft Seafoam for the sprig, or use any green color you have on hand.
Instructions:
- Take the 8 1/2" x 5 1/2' piece of card stock and layout the 2nd largest circle along with the 4th & 5th smallest circles.
- Take the 6" x 5 1/2" piece of cardstock and die cut the 3rd largest circle. You will cut this circle in half. Save the other half for a 2nd card.
- Take the 6" x 5 1/2" piece of Basic White and use the same die from above. Cut this in half as well.
- Take the 1/2 circle and the 5th smallest circle and run them through an embossing folder of your choice. I used one from the Basics 3D Embossing folder set.
- Take the polka dot ribbon and apply a piece of tear & tape to the back. Remove the backing and wrap this around the embossed smaller circle. The tear & tape helps ensure that the ribbon stays in place.
- Adhere this circle to the other small circle using dimensional.
- Take the large circle and fold it in half like a taco. Burnish the fold. Attach the 1/2 circle embossed piece of cardstock.
- Take the Basic White 1/2 circle and stamp your sentiment and any other images you wish. Adhere that to the inside of the card base.
- Take the layered small circles and dry-fit it along the top fold of the card base. You want it a little to the right of the center. I used a pencil to make a small mark on the back of the small circle so I knew where to apply the adhesive.
- Apply adhesive to only the bottom half of the circle and attach it to the card base.
- Take the Soft Seafoam scrap and punch a small sprig.
- Tie your ribbon into a bow and using a glue dot, place it on the polka dot ribbon, a little bit to the right.
- Trim a tiny bit from the bottom of the punched sprig and attach it under the bow. I find that a glue dot works best.
- Add a flower over the center of the bow using a glue dot. Place a small pearl in the center of the flower.
- Using a scrap of Basic White, stamp your sentiment using the ink of your choice. I used Memento Black. Then fussy cut around the sentiment. Adhere the sentiment to the front of the card.
NOTE: If you don't have small punches to make the flower, you could substitute a small butterfly or any other small Spring-type adornment.
You are finished!

Card is done in Petal Pink. The sentiment was not fussy cut in this version.
