C
reate a beautiful calendar for your desk using SU! New Horizons 6 x 6 DSP and In The Moment stamp set.
Based on a project created by Avis Gann Anderson with my modification.
Uses mini-calendars purchased from Taylored Expressions - 3" x 2 1/4" size.
Project Recipe
Measurements:
Designer Series Paper - 5 3/4" x 3"
Basic White -
- 7" x 6 1/4" - on 7" side, score at 3 1/2"
- Scrap piece big enough to stamp your
image of choice from In The
Moments stamp set. For this project
I stamped the image and then used
the 2 5/8" circle to die cut it once it
was stamped.
Thick Basic White for easel piece - 6 1/4" x 4 3/4" - on 4 3/4" side, score @ 3/4", 2 3/8" and 4"
Coordinating Card Stock - 5 7/8" x 3 1/8"- this will be used to layer your DSP above.
Take the 7" x 6 1/4" of Basic White and fold and burnish along the score line.
Take the 6 1/4" x 4 3/4" piece of Thick Basic White and do a mountain fold and burnish on the 2 3/8' score, then do a valley fold on the 3/4" line and the 4" line.
Note: I used Thick Basic White for the easel part for more stability.
Using the birds' image from the On The Horizon stamp set, stamp 2 groupings of birds using Memento Ink. I stamped some on the top left side and top right side.
Attach the DSP to the coordinating piece of card stock.
Stamp your chosen image on the scrap piece of cardstock and color, using your choice of Blends.
Use the 2 5/8" circle to cut out the image.
For my project, I fussy cut around the image to allow more of the beautiful DSP to show through. I cut from the top of the railing around the image to the other side of the railing. It's your choice whether you want to do this part or not.
Take the cardstock with the attached DSP and attach it to the front of the folded 7" x 6 1/4" of Basic White.
Using dimensionals, attach the stamped image to the lower left-hand side of the front. For the size circle used here, you are going to place the image right to the left edge of the DSP.
Attach the 3" x 2 1/4" calendar on the lower right-hand side of the front. You should have a very narrow margin of the DSP showing on the right side.
Using liquid glue (this gives you a little time to slide the cardstock into place) attach one side of the easel piece to the front inside of the tented calendar piece. Press firmly and run a bone folder over it to help it adhere evenly.
Apply liquid glue to the opposite side of the easel and attach the inside back of the tented calendar piece. Press firmly and run a bone folder over it to help it adhere evenly.
You don't need to put anything on the back, but for my project, I used one of the sentiments and die-cut it using the Stitched So Sweetly dies.
Your project is finished!
Note: Since the DSP used for this project is so detailed, I chose not to add any other embellishments to the front. I did add a bit of Wink of Stella to the hat, although it doesn't show very well in the picture.
If you are using different DSP and using different images, feel free to embellish to your hearts content!
Here's another sample using a different image from the stamp set. For this image, I used painstakingly cut out around the window panes to make it look like she was actually seeing the scenery :)
