B right and cheery treat cup using Stampin' Up! products and the mirror image technique with the Stamparatus.
Project Recipe
Follow the general directions for covering the Sweet Treat Cup using pieces of the diagonal rainbow stripes design from the How Sweet It Is Designer Series Paper and Gorgeous Grape Cardstock for the 3-1/4" square of colored cardstock for the lid.
Carefully remove a magnet from the back of the Stamparatus.
Place the Stamparatus in front of you with the open sides of the Stamparatus on the left and bottom. Insert one hinged plate into the Stamparatus on the right side. Put a piece of Small Grid Paper on top of the base of the Stamparatus.
Place the white square on the Stamparatus base so the top is lined up on the 1/2" horizontal line on the Small Grid Paper and the right edge is on the 5-1/4" vertical line on the Small Grid Paper. Use a magnet to hold the paper in place.
Pick out the bird image from the Hey Love Set. Place it upside down on the right side of the white square so it about 1" from the top edge and about 1/2" from the right edge. Close the plate on the Stamparatus and press firmly so the stamp sticks to the plate. Open the plate.
Ink up the stamp on the plate using the Memento Ink Pad. If you get excess ink on the plate, you can wipe it off with a baby wipe or tissue. Close the plate onto the white cardstock and press down firmly. Open the plate.
Tip: Slide a Clear-Mount Stamp Case under the plate before inking up the stamp. This gives you a firm, flat surface to push against making it easier to ink up the stamp.
Remove the stamped cardstock from the Stamparatus.
Place the Silicone Craft Sheet on the Stamparatus base so the top edge hits the top edge of the base of the Stamparatus and the right edge hits the right edge of the base of the Stamparatus.
Re-ink the bird stamp with the Memento Ink Pad. Close the plate onto the Silicone Craft Sheet and press firmly.
Turn the stamped white square upside down. Carefully place it on top of the stamped silicone sheet on the Stamparatus base so that the top of the cardstock is even with the 1/2" horizontal mark on the Small Grid Paper near the top of the base and the right edge of the cardstock is even with the 5-1/4" vertical mark on the Small Grid Paper. Rub firmly over the back of the cardstock. Carefully remove the cardstock from the Stamparatus. You should have two bird images facing each other.
Mount the "hey, valentine" sentiment from the Hey Love Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Gorgeous Grape Ink Pad. Stamp it just below the stamped birds.
Pick out the circle framelit from the Layering Circles Framelits that cuts out a 2-3/8" diameter circle. Place the stamped white square on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the circle framelit on top so the image is centered. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Place the stamped circle cut out on top of some paper on your work surface (Grid Paper works great). You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Start coloring with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas. Use the dark colors first and then the light colors to blend the colors and color in the spaces. Work on one area at a time so the inks will be wet and will blend easier.
Use the Dark Pineapple Punch Marker to color in the birds' beaks.
Use the Dark Lovely Lipstick Marker to color in the hearts the birds are holding.
Use the Dark and Light Bermuda Bay Markers to color in one of the birds.
Use the Dark and Light Granny Apple Green Markers to color in the other bird.
Use the Color Lifter Marker as needed to remove excess ink.
Adhere the colored birds circle cut out to the center of the Gorgeous Grape scalloped circle cut out. Then, adhere the matted circles to the center of the Sweet Cup lid.
Use the brush tip of the Lovely Lipstick Dark Stampin' Blends to color a large heart on a sheet of Heart Epoxy Droplets while it is on the sheet.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up the colored droplet making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the top of the Sweet Cup lid between the birds' heads.
