S
ometimes our projects come about in strange ways. My Ice-cream Stand is one of those projects. It has evolved from a series of circumstances!
I'm holding an event this weekend and I've been busily making samples for it using the Cool Treats Suite. So my mind has
been on Ice-cream cones.
While in my local grocery store I spied the Wizz Fizz Sherbet Cones that I loved as a child (yes, they've been around THAT long). I thought it would be fun to have these for my guests. This then led to "I should make a stand for them".
This thought also coincided with a new Colour Challenge on Facebook (Colour Inkspiration) so I figured I may as well use those colours to do my "Creamy Sundae" Ice-cream Stand.
I'm so pleased with how it's turned out, and it was so much fun, that I thought others may like to try it too. So I've done a simple, printable tutorial to share with you all!
Even though I'm in Australia I've done the measurements in Inches so the U.S crafters can follow it with no problems. The Stampin' Trimmer in the South Pacific region comes marked in both cm's and inches so we have no problems working with either!
I hope you enjoy this project!

Project Recipe
Cut your Cardstock to measure 11" x 81/4".
Score lengthways at 11/2", 4", 51/2", and 8".
Turn your Cardstock to the side.
Score at 11/2" and 91/2".
Using this photo as a guide.
Fold along all the Dotted Lines and burnish with your Bone Folder.
Cut all Solid Lines.
Discard the 2 small shaded areas.
Using your 1" Circle Punch, punch 5 circles to make the holes for the cones to sit in. You will notice that these have been punched closer to the score line. This is so the tab doesn't show or block the circles when it is glued into place during assembly.
Adhere the 1/4" Tab under the top using Multipurpose Adhesive.
Fold the Side Tabs in and adhere using Multipurpose Adhesive.
I have made two of the boxes and glued them together using the Multipurpose Adhesive to make a larger stand. Doing this gives a lot of support to the mid section.
You will notice there are coloured rings around the top of the Circle cut outs. I used the Layering Circle Framelits to do this. These have been adhered with the Fine-Tip Glue Pen.
The poles at the back of the stand are Satay Sticks that have been wrapped in Washi Tape.
The line and bows are Bakers Twine stuck down with Glue Dots.
You can cover the sides and front of the stand using your choice of Cardstock or Designer Series Paper.
I have used the Letters for You Stamp Set and Large Letters Framelits to do the "Creamy" at the front of the stand, popped up with Stampin Dimensionals.
The "sweet" and "sundae" are from the Cool Treats Stamp Set and adhered using Multipurpose Adhesive.
The small Circles are Cardstock punched out using the 1/4" Circle Punch and placed back to back over the Bakers Twine with Glue Dots.
The small asterix shapes are from the Large Letter Framelits and also use Glue Dots to adhere back to back over the Bakers Twine.
I also placed a few sequins onto a few of the shapes to add a bit of bling!
