C ard using a decorative mask
Project Recipe
Standard card base: 5.5" x 4.25"
Layer 1: 5.25" x 4"
Layer 2: 5" x 3.75"
Using a decorative mask of your choice and a color dauber applicator:
1. Place Layer 2 on a sheet of grid paper to protect your surface. Place your mask on Layer 2 how you would like the pattern to appear.
2. Dab your ink pad with the dauber
3. Lightly dab the color into the spaces in the mask. You can do a gentle 'stipple' or I have seen some people 'color' with a dauber. Different techniques will produce various results, have fun with it and see what works for you. The technique I used was a 'stipple' with the dauber using gentle dabs and repeating the dab in the same spot for more concentration of color.
4. Allow color to dry, if necessary. Careful handling the mask as it is now probably covered in ink and you don't want to make a mess. A moist towelette is good to have on hand.
