S unny card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Crushed Curry Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 5-3/4" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Dapper Denim Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Shimmery White Cardstock
- 3-1/4" square from Crushed Curry Cardstock
- 3" square from Very Vanilla Cardstock
Make sure you have Grid Paper on your work surface to protect it from ink as you stamp off the sides of some pieces of cardstock and work with the Brusho Crystal Colour.
Place the rectangle of Shimmer White Cardstock horizontally in the center of the Grid Paper.
Sprinkle some yellow Brusho Crystal Colour on top of Block F. Spritz the block with water using a Stampin' Spritzer. Drag the wide, flat paintbrush across the block to pick up some color. Then, drag it horizontally across the center of the Shimmery White Cardstock. Repeat a few times.
Sprinkle some gamboge (orange) Brusho Crystal Colour onto the right side of the Shimmery White Cardstock. Hold the cardstock off to the side of your work area and spritz the cardstock with water from the Stampin' Spritzer to make the color run a bit. Set aside to allow to dry thoroughly.
Pick out the scalloped circle framelit from the Layering Circles Framelits that cuts out a 2-3/4" scalloped circle. Place the Crushed Curry square on the Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the scalloped circle framelit on top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Pick out the circle framelit from the Layering Circles Framelits that cuts out a 2-3/8" circle. Place the Very Vanilla square on the Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the circle framelit on top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Place some Grid Paper on top of the Stampin' Pierce Mat to protect it from ink. Place the Very Vanilla circle on top. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the long, single swoosh image from the Waterfront Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Crumb Cake Ink Pad. Stamp once onto Grid Paper. Without re-inking, stamp it again horizontally across the Very Vanilla circle about 1/2" up from the bottom.
Mount the long, double-line swoosh image from the Waterfront Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Dapper Denim Pad. Stamp it below the light Crumb Cake line a few times. Re-ink the stamp some times. Let the lines overlap each other.
Mount the set of two palm tree trunks image from the Waterfront Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Crumb Cake Ink Pad. Stamp it on the left side of the circle with the bottoms of the trunks as close to the top of the water as you can get them.
Mount the set of two palm tree tops (fronds) from the Waterfront Set on Block B. Ink them up with the Garden Green Ink Pad. Stamp them on the top of the tree trunks. If desired, rotate the stamp a tiny bit and stamp again without re-inking.
Mount the beach cabana image from the Waterfront Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Tangerine Tango Ink Pad. Stamp it to the right of the trees so the bottom of the cabana is on the top of the Crumb Cake sand.
Mount the small sun (circle) image from the Waterfront Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Crushed Curry Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of the beach cabana so the sun goes off the top right of the vanilla circle a bit.
Adhere the stamped beach scene circle to the center of the scalloped Crushed Curry circle.
If the Brusho background is dry, use a clean tissue or paper towel to lightly wipe off excess Brusho.
Place the Brusho background rectangle on top of the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image when you stamp.
Mount the sentiment of choice from the Waterfront Set on Block A or B. Ink it up with the Dapper Denim Ink Pad. Stamp it in the lower right corner of the Brusho background.
Adhere the Brusho background layer to the center of the Dapper Denim rectangle using Tear & Tape Adhesive along all the edges. The Tear & Tape will help hold the cardstock flat and keep it from curling up at the edges since it did get wet.
Adhere the matted Brusho background to the front of the Crushed Curry card.
Adhere the matted beach scene circle to the front of the card on the left side about 1/4" in from the top and left sides of the Brusho background layer.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of Garden Green 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center. Trim the ends. If desired, use the scissors to cut thin strips of the ribbon towards the knot on either side. Fan them out a bit to look like palm fronds.
Adhere at a slight angle to the lower right side of the beach scene matted circle using a Mini Glue Dot.
