Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Sweet Sorbet Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 2" x 5-1/2" from Granny Apple Green Cardstock
- 4" x 5-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
Pick out the curved die from the Basic Borders Dies. Put it on top of the Granny Apple Green rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it will cut along the long edge on the right side. Run through the machine. Leave the die out.
Put the curved die on top of the Basic White rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it will cut along the long edge on the right side cutting off about 3/8". Run through the machine.
Drag the top edge of the open Granny Apple Green Ink Pad horizontally across the curved edge of the vertical Granny Apple Green rectangle to create the streaks of the rind. Repeat as often as you want to make the streaks as thick and dark as you want.
As you are ready to stamp using the Watercolor Melon Set or Hooray For Surprises Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top of the mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the "make a wish" sentiment from the Hooray For Surprises Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Granny Apple Green Ink Pad. Stamp it on the right side of the curved, vertical white rectangle so it is as close as possible to the curve and about 1-3/8" from the bottom edge.
Mount the whole triangle of watermelon flesh image from the Watercolor Melon Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Sweet Sorbet Ink Pad. Stamp it at a slight angle to the right on the bottom of the white curved rectangle as shown. Re-ink the stamp and stamp it again in the upper left corner of the white curved rectangle so the top tip is pointing the other direction as shown.
Mount the small, curved watermelon flesh image from the Watercolor Melon Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Sweet Sorbet Ink Pad. Stamp it on the curved white rectangle at a slight angle as shown just above the watermelon flesh triangle stamped on the bottom of the rectangle. Be sure to leave a little room to stamp the rind.
Mount the triangle of watermelon flesh with a bite taken out of it image from the Watercolor Melon Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Sweet Sorbet Ink Pad. Stamp it on the curved white rectangle at a slight angle as shown so it is centered between the top triangle of watermelon flesh and the curved piece of watermelon flesh. Be sure to leave room to stamp the rinds.
Mount the small, more curved watermelon rind image from the Watercolor Melon Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Granny Apple Green Ink Pad. Stamp it under the curved watermelon flesh image as shown.
Mount the longer, flatter watermelon rind image from the Watercolor Melon Set on Block B. Ink up ONLY about 1-1/2" worth of it using the Granny Apple Green Ink Pad. Stamp it under the solid watermelon triangles as shown. Remember to re-ink the partial stamp the second time. Leave the stamp on the block.
Re-ink the ENTIRE longer, flatter watermelon rind image on Block B with the Granny Apple Green Ink Pad. Stamp it under the watermelon triangle with a bite taken out of it as shown.
Mount the set of three small seeds image from the Watercolor Melon Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it on the solid, triangular watermelon flesh pieces as shown. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time.
Mount the single small seed image from the Watercolor Melon Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it on the watermelon flesh pieces as desired. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time.
Adhere the striped, curved Granny Apple Green rectangle to the back of the stamped white rectangle so about 1/4" of green shows all along the curved edge.
Adhere the layered, stamped white rectangle to the front of the Sweet Sorbet card so the top and bottom edges are even and there is about 1/8" for Sweet Sorbet showing on the left side.
Cut an 8" piece of the Black & White 1/4" Gingham Ribbon.
Tie a small bow in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon bow just below the sentiment on the card front as shown.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 5 Sweet Sorbet pearls from the sheet of 2022-2024 In Color Pearls making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the front of the card as shown.
