Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Crumb Cake Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" of red plaid pattern from Most Adored 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from scrap cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 2-1/2" square from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 2 pieces each 2" x 6" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 1/2" x 3" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 5" from Garden Green Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 8" from Cajun Craze Cardstock
Pick out the larger circle with a tab die from the Hooray For Surprises Dies. Put it on top of the scrap cardstock rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is about 5/8" from the top and left edges and the tab bit is on the upper right side. Run through the machine. Leave the die out.
Note: This die does NOT completely cut out the circle. Instead, it perforates the circle so it can be easily torn free later by the person who receives the card.
Carefully tear the perforated circle out of the scrap cardstock.
Put the piece of scrap cardstock with the circle torn out on top of the Most Adored Designer Paper rectangle on top of a platform on your Stampin' Emboss Machine so the scrap cardstock is centered on the designer paper. Put the circle with a tab die on top of the scrap cardstock rectangle so it is centered in the cut out area. Run through the machine.
Put the piece of scrap cardstock with the circle torn out of it on top of the 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" vanilla rectangle so the edges of both pieces are even.
As you are ready to stamp using the Hooray For Surprises Set or Watercolor Melon Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the "Make A Wish" sentiment from the Hooray For Surprises Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Real Red Ink Pad. Stamp it on the vanilla rectangle through the hole cut in the scrap cardstock so it is centered inside the hole.
Unlock the Happy Labels Pick A Punch. Slide one short edge of the thin Crumb Cake strip into the right side of the punch (the side of the punch with the smaller scallops) as far as it will go and get it centered. Punch.
Mount the tiny "for you" sentiment from the Hooray For Surprises Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Real Red Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the punched Crumb Cake strip so it is closer to the left edge with the punched edge on the left.
Adhere the stamped sentiment strip to the bottom right side of the designer paper rectangle leaving some space between the right edge of the sentiment and the right edge of the designer paper. Trim off excess cardstock on the right edge using Paper Snips Scissors.
Add Stampin' Seal to the back of the designer paper rectangle well away from the perforated circle. Adhere it over the sentiment stamped vanilla rectangle making sure that the sentiment will be revealed when the perforated circle on the designer paper rectangle is torn off.
Important: Make sure NOT to put adhesive on the back of the perforated circle or you won't be able to pull off the circle.
Adhere the matted designer paper rectangle to the front of the Crumb Cake card.
Pick out the smaller circle with a tab die from the Hooray For Surprises Dies. Put it on top of the small Very Vanilla square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Note: This die does NOT completely cut out the circle. Instead, it perforates the circle so it can be easily torn free later by the person who receives the card.
Carefully cut the perforated circle out of the square using Paper Snips Scissors. You are using the circle with the tab cut out.
Mount the tiny "pull" sentiment from the Hooray For Surprises Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Real Red Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the tab of the circle cut out as shown.
Mount the whole triangle of watermelon flesh image from the Watercolor Melon Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Real Red Ink Pad. Stamp it 6 times on the 2" x 6" strips of Very Vanilla Cardstock. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time and leave room to stamp the crust/rind and easily cut things out. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy, but leave the stamp on the block.
Re-ink the whole triangle of watermelon flesh image on Block B using the Cajun Craze Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of the images already stamped on the 2" x 6" strips of Very Vanilla Cardstock. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy and put it away.
Mount the longer, flatter watermelon rind image from the Watercolor Melon Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Crumb Cake Ink Pad. Stamp it under the solid watermelon/pizza slice triangles. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time.
Cut out the pizza slices by hand using Paper Snip Scissors.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay 5 of the cut out pizza slices on the "pull" tab circle cut out to form a circular pizza with one slice missing. The open area should expose the word "pull". Once happy with the arrangement, carefully adhere the pieces in place one at a time so adhesive is ONLY on the circle cut out. Make sure NO adhesive goes over the edges of the circle cut out.
Now, adhere the circle cut out with pizza slices attached to the front of the card so the tabs on the two circle pieces line up. Make sure NO adhesive goes over the edges of the smaller vanilla circle cut out.
Adhere the remaining pizza slice cut out to the front of the card as shown so it looks like it has been pulled out from the rest of the pizza exposing the word "pull" on the tab. You can tuck it under the edges of the circle cut out though if you want.
Pick out the rectangular die that cuts out little confetti pieces from the Ice Cream Swirl Dies. Put it on top of one end of the Cajun Craze strip on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces as needed. Move the die over a bit and cut out more confetti pieces until you've cut pieces out of the whole strip of Cajun Craze. Leave the die out.
Use the fine tip of the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to put little black dots all over the larger Cajun Craze circle confetti cut outs to make them look like pepperoni.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the pepperoni circles randomly to the pizza slices.
Put the rectangular die that cuts out little confetti pieces from the Ice Cream Swirl Dies on top of one end of the Garden Green strip on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces as needed. Move the die over a bit and cut out more confetti pieces until you've cut pieces out of the whole strip of Garden Green.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the small, rounded rectangular and triangular pieces randomly to the pizza slices as green pepper strips.
Use the fine tip of the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to draw tiny open circles randomly onto the pizza slices as black olives.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Real Red ribbon from the Real Red & Garden Green 3/8" Ribbon Combo Pack.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the front of the card at a slight angle as shown so it is centered on the Crumb Cake sentiment strip between the right edge of the sentiment and the right edge of the card.
