C ute belated birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Polished Pink Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Mossy Meadow Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Polished Pink Cardstock
- 1" x 3" of tiny white leaf sprays on dark green design from Dandy Garden 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper
- 1" x 3" of white sunburst mosaic patterns on dark green design from Dandy Garden 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper, cut so the arches are horizontal on the horizontal paper
- 3/4" x 3-7/8" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 3-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock OR Old Olive Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 3-1/4" from Polished Pink Cardstock (if making the less stamping version)
Insert the large Polished Pink rectancle into the Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder. Use the line printed on the front flap of the folder to make sure it is lined up straight. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Adhere the strip of tiny leaf stems on green background piece of Dandy Garden Designer Paper to the dry embossed, horizontal pink cardstock so the top edge is about 5/8" from the top and the right edge is about 1/2" from the right side.
Adhere the strip of mosaic patterns on green background piece of Dandy Garden Designer Paper to the dry embossed, horizontal pink cardstock so the top edge is about 5/8" below the bottom edge of the first strip of designer paper and the ends are in line with each other.
Unlock the Banners Pick A Punch. Slide one short edge of the thin white strip into the left side of the punch (the side of the punch with the outward notch) as far as it will go and get it centered. Punch. Repeat with the other end of the strip.
As you are ready to stamp using the Turtle Friends Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the long, skinny sentiment of choice from the Turtle Friends Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Polished Pink Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the punched white strip as close to the right edge as possible.
Adhere the stamped and punched sentiment strip to the dry embossed Polished Pink rectangle so it covers the opening between the two pieces of designer paper and sticks out on either side of the designer paper pieces by an even amount.
Cut a 4-1/2" piece of the Mossy Meadow 3/16" Braided Linen Trim.
Lay the trim across the dry embossed Polished Pink rectangle so it covers the left edge of the designer paper strips and overlaps the left end of the sentiment strip. Flip the cardstock over and fold the ends of the trim over. Adhere the ends of the trim in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the Polished Pink rectangle. Adhere it to the center of the Mossy Meadow rectangle and then to the front of the Polished Pink card.
If you are making the less stamping version, unlock the Turtle Punch and slide the strip of Old Olive Cardstock into the punch. Punch. Leave the punch unlocked.
If you are making the less stamping version, slide the strip of Polished Pink Cardstock into the unlocked Turtle Punch so you can punch out the back of the turtle. Punch.
If you are making the less stamping version, use Paper Snips Scissors to trim off the shell portion from the back of the turtle punched out Polished Pink piece.
If you are making the less stamping version, place the cut down punched out shell piece of Polished Pink into the Hammered Metal 3D Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
If you are making the less stamped version, adhere the dry embossed, cut down, Polished Pink shell piece to the back of the Old Olive turtle punch out.
If you are making the more stamped version, mount the large turtle outline image from the Turtle Friends Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the larger strip of white cardstock, leaving room to punch the image out.
If you are making the more stamped version, mount the large patterned shell back image from the Turtle Friends Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Mossy Meadow Ink Pad. Stamp it inside the previously stamped turtle image.
If you are making the more stamped version, unlock the Turtle Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped turtle into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
If you are making the more stamped version, put the punched out turtle on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
If you are making the more stamped version, use the Dark Polished Pink Stampin' Blends to color in the turtle's nails, mouth, and spaces around the shell pattern on his back.
Use the Light and Dark Old Olive Stampin' Blends to color in the rest of the turtle.
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the turtle punch out to the front of the card at a slight angle so his front foot overlaps the lower left side of the bottom designer paper strip and his head overlaps the sentiment strip on the left end.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a small Rhinestone Basic Jewel from the sheet making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere the rhinestone to the turtle punch out as the eye/part of the eye.
Cut a 3" piece of the Mossy Meadow 3/16" Braided Linen Trim.
Tie the trim piece to the piece of trim already on the card front using a half knot so it is at the upper left corner of the top strip of designer paper. Trim the ends of the trim piece. Fray the ends.
