A simple but elegant floral birthday card in Berry Burst and Old Olive. This card uses a technique called two-step stamping where stamp images are layered over one another to create a more dynamic image.
Project Recipe
Cut List:
• 8-1/2" x 5-1/2" Berry Burst Cardstock (scored at 4-1/4")
• 3" x 5-1/2" Whisper White Cardstock
• 4" x 5-1/4" Whisper White Cardstock
• 1/2" x 5-1/2" Old Olive Gradient Pattern (from Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack)
• Scrap Whisper White Cardstock
Start by stamping the stems in Old Olive Ink. Next stamp the leaves in Old Olive Ink.
Stamp the large solid tulip piece above the middle stem using Berry Burst. Then stamp the smaller solid tulips above the other two stems.
On top of the large solid tulip image, stamp the large detailed tulip petals in Berry Burst. Line up the bottom of the stamp to the bottom of the stamped image, then firmly press down. Repeat for the smaller detailed tulip petals.
Stamp the stamens onto the flowers using Rich Razzleberry ink. There are two distinct stamens. The stamens tightly clustered together go with the smaller flowers. The stamens with the larger gap between the first and second stamen is the stamp for the larger flowers.
Stamp the Happy Birthday sentiment onto a piece of scrap Whisper White cardstock in Berry Burst ink. Use the Classic Label Punch to punch-out the sentiment.
To assemble the card, start by adhering the strip of Old Olive designer paper (from Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack) behind the stamped panel, using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Use the glue very sparingly as not a lot will be needed to hold it in place. You will want to overlap the stamped panel onto the Old Olive strip by about 1/8" (just enough to hold them together).
Using your SNAIL Adhesive, adhere the stamped panel and Old Olive strip to the front of the Berry Burst card base. Leave about 1/4" on the right side of the card.
Last, pop the greeting off the card using Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.
For the inside of the card, stamp the stems in the lower left corner of the card. Repeat the process for stamping the tulips from the front of the card. Adhere to the inside of the card using SNAIL Adhesive.
