Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, designer paper, and Grid Paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Grapefruit Grove Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Petal Pink Cardstock
- 2" x 5-1/4" of black words on light pink background design from Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper, cut so the words are horizontal
- 1/2" x 5-1/4" from Grapefruit Grove Cardstock
- 3-1/4" x 4" from Petal Pink Cardstock
- 3" square from Basic Black Cardstock
- scrap of Grapefruit Grove Cardstock at least 3/4" square
- 7-1/4" square of Grid Paper
Adhere the long, thin strip of Grapefruit Grove Cardstock to the back of the Share What You Love Designer Paper strip so that only about 1/8" of Grapefruit Grove shows along the top, long edge of the designer paper. Make sure the words are right side up.
Place the Stamparatus in front of you with the open sides of the Stamparatus on the left and bottom. Place the foam mat on the base of the Stamparatus, make sure it is pushed into the upper right corner as far as possible. Place the 7-1/4" square of Grid Paper on top of the foam mat so you have some grid lines to refer to. Make sure the Grid Paper is pushed into the upper right corner as far as possible. Insert one hinged plate into the Stamparatus on the right side.
Place the large Petal Pink rectangle on the Stamparatus so it is pushed into the upper right corner as far as possible with a long side running horizontally across the top.
WITHOUT adhering, lay the matted designer paper strip on the large rectangle of Petal Pink on the Stamparatus so there is about 1/4" of Petal Pink showing along the top, long edge.
Pick out the long, thin, leafy border image from the Stitched All Around Set. Place it upside down on the Petal Pink cardstock on the Stamparatus just under the designer paper strip on the left side of the cardstock rectangle so the left edge of the image will stamp off the left side of the cardstock just a bit. Close the plate on the Stamparatus and press firmly so the stamp sticks to the plate. Open the plate.
Remove the matted designer paper from the Petal Pink cardstock on the Stamparatus.
Ink up the stamp on the plate using the Grapefruit Grove Ink Pad. If you get excess ink on the plate, you can wipe it off with a baby wipe or tissue. Close the plate onto the cardstock and press down firmly. Open the plate. If you are not happy with the coverage you got, you can close the plate again and press firmly again or re-ink the stamp and try again.
Tip: Slide a Clear-Mount Stamp Case under the plate before inking up the stamp. This gives you a firm, flat surface to push against making it easier to ink up the stamp.
Slide the Petal Pink Cardstock over a few inches so that when the Stamparatus plate is closed, the image will stamp on the right side of the cardstock (going off the edge on the right side). It's okay if the images overlap a bit or don't quite touch as this will be hidden by the sentiment cut out in a later step.
Re-ink the stamp with Grapefruit Grove Ink Pad. Remember to use a Clear-Mount Stamp Case under the plate to give you a firm, flat surface for inking against. Close the plate onto the cardstock and press down firmly. Open the plate.
Adhere the matted designer paper strip to the stamped Petal Pink rectangle so it is just above the stamped border images.
Cut a 6" piece of Black 1/8" Cord.
Lay the cord across the cardstock and designer paper so it covers the seam between the two. Flip the layers over and fold the ends of the cord over. Adhere the ends of the cord in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips and add more SNAIL to the back of the cardstock. Adhere the layers to the front of the Grapefruit Grove card.
Pick out the leaf spray thinlit from the Petals & More Thinlits. Place the large piece of Basic Black Cardstock on the Precision Base Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the leaf spray thinlit on top so you'll cut out the top 3 stems of the leaf spray. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush and Paper-Piercing Tool to remove the pieces. Save a large scrap of Basic Black Cardstock to use on a later step.
Use Paper Snips to trim off any excess leaf stems on the leaf spray cut out. You only need the top three stems.
Put a Mini Glue Dot on the stem end of the leaf spray. Use it to adhere the leaf spray to the front of the card so the leaves cover the left side of the designer paper strip.
Pick out the largest oval scrollwork framelit from the Stitched Labels Framelits. Place the smaller rectangle of Petal Pink Cardstock on the Precision Base Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the largest oval scrollwork framelit on top. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush and Paper-Piercing Tool to remove the pieces. Keep both pieces!
Carefully remove a magnet from the back of the Stamparatus and place it on your work surface. Make sure the magnets do NOT get too close to each other or they could snap together and break.
Place the Stamparatus back in front of you with the open sides of the Stamparatus on the left and bottom and the foam mat and Grid Paper in place. Insert one hinged plate into the Stamparatus on the top.
Place the smaller Petal Pink rectangle with the label cut out of the center on the Stamparatus so it is pushed into the upper right corner as far as possible with a long side running horizontally across the top. Secure in place with the magnet.
Pick out the "enjoy your special day" sentiment from the Stitched All Around Set. Place it upside down in the center of the cut out area of the Petal Pink cardstock on the Stamparatus. Close the plate on the Stamparatus and press firmly so the stamp sticks to the plate. Open the plate.
Ink up the stamp on the plate using the Grapefruit Grove Ink Pad. If you get excess ink on the plate, you can wipe it off with a baby wipe or tissue. Close the plate and press down firmly. Open the plate. Check to make sure the sentiment stamped right side up and straight and is centered in the open area cut out of the cardstock. If not, adjust the stamp on the plate and try again. When happy with the positioning of the stamp, proceed to the next step.
Tip: Slide a Clear-Mount Stamp Case under the plate before inking up the stamp. This gives you a firm, flat surface to push against making it easier to ink up the stamp.
When you are happy with the placement of the sentiment stamp on the Stamparatus plate, put the cut out label on the Stamparatus so it fits into the space cut out of the cardstock rectangle.
Re-ink the sentiment stamp with Grapefruit Grove Ink Pad. Remember to use a Clear-Mount Stamp Case under the plate to give you a firm, flat surface for inking against. Close the plate onto the cardstock and press down firmly. Open the plate. If you are not happy with the coverage you got, you can close the plate again and press firmly again or re-ink the stamp and try again.
Tip: If you are making multiples of the same card, you can now put all cut out labels into the space and stamp the sentiments perfectly on them one at a time.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the stamped, cut out label to the front of the card on the right side so that the label is centered over the cord.
Pick out the little heart framelit from the Stitched Labels Framelits. Place the scrap of Basic Black Cardstock that you saved earlier on the Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the little heart framelit on top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Place the scrap of Grapefruit Grove Cardstock on the Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the little heart framelit on top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the two little heart cut outs to the bottom right of the sentiment label cut out using Mini Glue Dots. Let the hearts overlap a little.
Carefully peel up one small Grapefruit Grove Faceted Dot from a sheet of Faceted Dots making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the center of the small black heart.
