Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, foil sheets, and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Night Of Navy Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 2" x 5-1/4" of small gold stars sprinkled on dark blue background design from Shining Brightly 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper
- 1-3/4" x 3-1/2" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 3" from Night Of Navy Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 3" from Gold 12" x 12" Foil Sheets
As you are ready to stamp using the Stars At Night Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the larger group of various size stars image from the Stars At Night Set on Block C and stamp them in a vertical row down the right side of the vertical 4" x 5-1/4" vanilla rectangle using Night Of Navy Ink. Make sure the right edge of the stamp is about 3/8" from the right edge of the cardstock. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Let some of the images go off the top and bottom edges.
Adhere the Shining Brightly Specialty Designer Paper piece to the left side of the stamped vanilla rectangle. The top, bottom, and left edges will be even.
Adhere a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive down the layered cardstock/designer paper rectangle so it covers the seam between the two pieces. Let some of the Tear & Tape go off the top and bottom edges. Then, trim off excess at the top and bottom using Paper Snips Scissors.
Open the Gilded Leafing and pour at least some of it into a large container with a lid. Be careful, the leafing tends to go everywhere!
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strip. Place the cardstock/designer paper with Tear & Tape on it upside down into the Gilded Leafing container and press down lightly.
Remove the cardstock/designer paper from the container and lightly brush off excess leafing and press the remaining leafing into the Tear & Tape. Return the leafing to the container to use again later.
Adhere the cardstock/designer paper with leafing attached to the front of the Night Of Navy card.
Mount the "wishing you the best & brightest holiday season" sentiment from the Stars At Night Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Night Of Navy Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the small vanilla rectangle.
Pick out the bumpy topped rectangle die from the Stars At Night Hybrid Embossing Folder. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the sentiment is centered in the die. Run through the machine.
Use the side of the brush tip of the Night Of Navy Stampin' Write Marker to carefully outline the edges of the sentiment cut out.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the outlined sentiment cut out to the front of the card as shown so it is about 3/8" from the right edge and about 7/8" from the bottom edge.
Pick out the solid, fatter, four-pointed star die and a small, single, 8 pointed star die from the dies included in the Stars At Night Hybrid Embossing Folder. Put them on top of the Night Of Navy rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Pick out the solid, skinnier, four-pointed star die from the dies included in the Stars At Night Hybrid Embossing Folder. Put it on top of the gold foil rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the foil side is face up. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the star cut outs on top of each other as shown - Night Of Navy large star, then gold foil star, and finally the small Night Of Navy star.
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the layered star to the front of the card as shown so it is centered over the leafing strip and the top of the star is about 1/2" from the top edge.
Cut a 4" piece of the Night Of Navy & Gold 1/2" Glittered Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot at a slight angle to the front of the card as shown so it is centered over the bottom left corner of the sentiment cut out.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a small gold sequin from the sheet of Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the center of the small Night Of Navy star cut out.
