Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Shaded Spruce Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Shaded Spruce Cardstock
- 3-1/2" x 4-1/2" of light pink flowers on red background design from Sunny Days 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, cut so the flowers are vertical on the horizontal rectangle
- 2-1/4" x 3" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 2-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
Insert the Shaded Spruce rectangle into the embossing folder included in the Softly Sophisticated Bundle. Use the line printed on the front flap of the folder to make sure it is lined up straight. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Pick out the rectangular postage stamp die that cuts out a rectangle that is 3-1/4" x 4-1/2" from the Perennial Postage Dies. Put it on top of the horizontal Sunny Days Designer Paper rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so you'll cut the top and bottom with the die. Make sure the flowers are vertical on the horizontal rectangle. You may not cut out all of the left and right sides, but that is okay. Run through the machine.
Adhere the cut out designer paper rectangle across the vertical, dry embossed Shaded Spruce rectangle so it is slightly closer to the top edge. Make sure the flowers are right side up.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off excess designer paper on the left and right edges of the cardstock.
Adhere the dry embossed Shaded Spruce rectangle with designer paper attached to the front of the Shaded Spruce card.
Pick out the postage stamp rectangle die that cuts out a postage stamp rectangle that is 2" x 2-3/4" from the Perennial Postage Dies. Put it on top of the larger white rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
As you are ready to stamp using the Softly Sophisticated Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the leafier stems image from the Softly Sophisticated Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Shaded Spruce Ink Pad. Stamp it on the vertical postage stampe rectangle cut out so it is centered side to side slightly closer to the top with the bottom of the stem pointing down.
Mount the grouping of 2 larger flowers and 1 bud image from the Softly Sophisticated Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Poppy Parade Ink Pad. Stamp the image on the postage stamp rectangle cut out so the flowers and bud line up with the openings on the previously stamped stems and leaves image.
Adhere the stamped postage stamp rectangle cut out to the front of the card so the top just overlaps the top of the designer paper layer and it is about 1/2" from the left edge of the card.
Mount the "you're in my thoughts" sentiment from the Softly Sophisticated Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Poppy Parade Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the remaining white rectangle.
Pick out the postage stamp rectangle die that cuts out a postage stamp rectangle that is 1-1/8" x 2" from the Perennial Postage Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the sentiment. Run through the machine.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment postage stamp rectangle cut out to the front of the card as shown so it overlaps the lower right corner of the floral postage stamp rectangle cut out and barely overlaps the bottom of the designer paper. The right edge should be about 1/2" from the right side of the card.
Carefully punch out one small, closed wing butterfly from a sheet of Paper Butterfly Accents.
Place the butterfly accent on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. Make sure that the butterfly's body and antennae are on the left side.
Use the brush tip of the Petal Pink Stampin' Write Marker to color the butterfly accent.
Use the Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen on the back of the colored butterfly to adhere it to the card front as shown so it just overlaps the right edge of the floral postage stamp rectangle cut out about 1/2" from the top of the floral postage stamp rectangle cut out.
Cut a 3" piece of the Sweet Sorbet 1/4" Bordered Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot at an angle to the front of the card so it is centered over the top left corner of the sentiment postage stamp rectangle cut out as shown.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 1 large and 1 small Petal Pink pearls from the sheet of Blooming Pearls making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the centers of the flowers on the front of the card as shown.
