G reat summer card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Island Indigo Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 3-1/4" square of Powder Pink Cardstock
- 3-1/4" square of Island Indigo Cardstock
- 3-1/4" square of Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 2" x 2-1/4" of one of the lighter wood designs from Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack
- 1" x 4-1/2" from Island Indigo Cardstock
Mount the "Seas the Day" sentiment from the So Many Shells Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Island Indigo Ink Pad. Stamp off onto scratch paper one time. Carefully re-ink only the bottom of the sentiment by pressing it to the edge of the Island Indigo Ink Pad. Breathe on the stamp to moisten all the ink and stamp in the center bottom of the Crumb Cake rectangle about 3/4" up from the bottom. You should have an ombre effect to the words.
Mount the more solid scallop shell image from the So Many Shells Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Powder Pink Ink Pad. Stamp it randomly all over the vanilla square. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Vary the positioning of the stamp and stamp some of the shells off the edge of the cardstock.
Mount the less solid scallop shell image from the So Many Shells Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Island Indigo Ink Pad. Stamp off on scratch paper TWO times. Then, stamp it over the top of one of the pink shells on the vanilla square. Repeat until you've stamped over the top of all the pink shells. Just remember to re-ink and then stamp off twice each time.
Fill an Aqua Painter with water.
Clear your work area so that no ink will get splattered on anything you don't want to get splattered.
Close the Crumb Cake Ink Pad and squeeze the pad in the middle. Open the pad, but leave the lid sticking off to the side. You should have a puddle of ink in the lid.
Squeeze the Aqua Painter over the open lid to get several drops of water in the puddle of ink. Dip the brush tip of the Aqua Painter into the puddle and swirl it around to get lots of watery ink on the brush. Hold the Aqua Painter over the stamped Crumb Cake cardstock and sharply tap the end of the barrel near the brush to make drops of ink fly off. Repeat several times until you have lots of splatters over the cardstock. Hold the brush over different areas at different angles and different heights. Get more watery ink on the brush tip as needed.
Repeat the step above to get splatters all over the shell stamped vanilla square.
Unlock the Decorative Ribbon Border Punch. Slide the long strip of Island Indigo Cardstock into the punch so it butts up against the guide at the back of the punch. Punch. Slide the punched cardstock over a little bit and line up the punched area with the silver design printed on the base of the punch. Punch again. Repeat until the entire length has been punched.
Place the Decorative Ribbon Border punch out upside down on one side of a Silicone Craft Sheet. Cut a Stamping Sponge into quarters and clamp the triangle edge of one quarter in a large binder clip. Squeeze a small amount of Multipurpose Liquid Glue on one corner of the Silicone Craft Sheet. Dab the sponge into the glue and then lightly onto the back of the Decorative Ribbon Border punch out. Flip the Decorative Ribbon Border punch out over and adhere it across the splattered and stamped Crumb Cake layer about 1-3/4" from the top. Trim off excess on the ends.
Adhere the Crumb Cake layer to the front of the Island Indigo card.
Pick out the scalloped edge square framelit from the Layering Squares Framelits that cuts out a 3" square. Place the square of Powder Pink Cardstock on the Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the scalloped square framelit on top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Pick out the straight edge square framelit from the Layering Squares Framelits that cuts out a 2-7/8" square. Place the large square of Island Indigo Cardstock on the Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the straight square framelit on top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Pick out the straight edge square framelit from the Layering Squares Framelits that cuts out a 2-5/8" square. Place the shell stamped square of vanilla cardstock on the Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the straight square framelit on top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the shell stamped vanilla square to the center of the Island Indigo square. Then, adhere that to the center of the scalloped Powder Pink square.
Cut a 4" piece of Island Indigo 1/4" Ombre Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon piece across the bottom of the squares so it covers the bottom of the shell stamped vanilla square. Make sure the lighter edge of the ribbon is on top. Flip the squares over and fold the ends of the ribbon over. Adhere them in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive across the ends.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips and add more SNAIL to the back of squares. Adhere the squares to the card front so they are centered over the Decorative Ribbon Border punch out.
Pick out the beach chair thinlit from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits. Place the rectangle of Wood Textures Designer Series Paper on the Precision Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the beach chair thinlit on top. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush to remove the paper.
Place the beach chair cut out upside down on one side of a Silicone Craft Sheet. Cut a Stamping Sponge into quarters and clamp the triangle edge of one quarter in a large binder clip. Squeeze a small amount of Multipurpose Liquid Glue on one corner of the Silicone Craft Sheet. Dab the sponge into the glue and then lightly onto the back of the beach chair cut out. Flip the beach chair cut out over and adhere it to the bottom left side of the squares on the card front. Let the left side of the chair hang off the left side of the squares a bit. Try to center the opening at the bottom of the chair over the ribbon on the left side.
Cut an 8" piece of Island Indigo 1/4" Ombre Ribbon. Fold the ribbon onto itself so it is 3 layers thick. Tie a half knot in the center. Trim the ends at angles.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the base of the chair on the right side so it is centered on top of the ribbon already on the card front.
