Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Orchid Oasis Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Starry Sky Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 5" of one of the purple designs from Tea Boutique 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper
- 2-5/8" x 4-1/8" from Orchid Oasis Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 4-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1" x 3" from Orchid Oasis Cardstock
Insert the large Starry Sky rectangle into the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder so the word pattern runs horizontally across the vertical cardstock. Use the line printed on the front flap of the folder to make sure it is lined up straight. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Adhere the strip of Tea Boutique Designer Paper to the left side of the dry embossed Starry Sky rectangle so there is about 1/8" Starry Sky showing on the top, left, and bottom edges.
Adhere the dry embossed Starry Sky rectangle with designer paper attached to the front of the Orchid Oasis card.
As you are ready to stamp using the Sending Smiles Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the longer stem with a smaller branch stem and multiple leaves image from the Sending Smiles Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Pear Pizzazz Ink Pad. Stamp it along the right side of the vertical 2-1/2" x 4" white rectangle so the bottom of the stem is about 1/4" from the bottom edge and the open ends of the stem point to the left and the point of the largest leaf on the right side almost touches the right edge.
Adhere the stamped white rectangle to the center of the Orchid Oasis rectangle.
Cut a 7" piece of the Orchid Oasis or Starry Sky twine from the 2022-2024 In Color Baker's Twine Pack.
Fold the twine in half. Lay the folded twine across the bottom of the matted, stamped white rectangle so it just covers the bottom of the stem. Fold the ends of the twine over and secure the twine in place on the back with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the Orchid Oasis rectangle. Adhere the rectangle to the front of the card as shown so it overlaps the right edge of the designer paper strip about 1" and is about 5/8" from the top edge of the card.
Mount the larger, flatter flower image from the Sending Smiles Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Orchid Oasis Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of one end of the 1-1/2" x 4-1/2" white strip leaving room to cut it out and leaving room to stamp another flower.
Mount the pointing down petals image from the Sending Smiles Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Orchid Oasis Ink Pad. Stamp it near the bottom of the other end of the 1-1/2" x 4-1/2" white strip leaving room to cut it out and room to stamp the center of the flower.
Pick out the matching flower dies from the Sending Dies. Put them on top of the stamped images on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so they are centered over the images. The pointing down petals flower die should have room at the top of the stamped petals to stamp the flower center in a later step. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the machine.
Mount the simple oval flower center image from the Sending Smiles Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Starry Sky Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the larger, flatter flower cut out.
Mount the layered oval flower center image from the Sending Smiles Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Starry Sky Ink Pad. Stamp it on the top of the petals pointing down flower cut out in the center.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the flower cut outs to the front of the card as shown so they cover the ends of the stems.
Mount the sentiment of choice from the Sending Smiles Set on an appropriate size block. Ink it up with the Starry Sky Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the thin strip of Orchid Oasis.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out the sentiment by hand and cut the words apart.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the cut out words on top of the card in the lower left corner of the matted white rectangle to figure out spacing and placement. When happy with the placement, use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the word cut outs in place.
Cut a 9" piece of the Orchid Oasis or Starry Sky twine from the 2022-2024 In Color Baker's Twine Pack.
Slide one end of the twine under the twine already on the card near the bottom of the stem. Tie the twine in place using a small bow. Trim the ends.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a large butterfly from a sheet of Brushed Brass Butterflies making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the front of the card in the upper right corner of the matted white rectangle as shown.
