S oft and pretty Christmas card or birthday card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Balmy Blue Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2 pieces each 2" square from Basic White Cardstock
Rub a Blending Brush across the open Balmy Blue Ink Pad to get it inky. Rub the inky Blending Brush around in a rough circle on the left side of the horizontal 4" x 5-1/4" white rectangle. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed.
Tip: I just clean my Blending Brushes when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Mount the "wishing you abundant joy & peace" sentiment from the Perched In A Tree Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Balmy Blue Ink Pad. Stamp it in the lower right corner of the blended white rectangle so it just overlaps the lower right side of the blended circle a bit and is about 1/2" from the bottom and right edges of the cardstock.
Mount the bunch of loose dots image from the Perched In A Tree Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Balmy Blue Ink Pad and stamp it all over the blended circle on the white rectangle. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time.
Put a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive horizontally across the top of the stamped and blended white rectangle so it is about 1/4" from the top edge.
Remove the protective backing on the Tear & Tape Adhesive and adhere the Balmy Blue 3/8" Sparkle Ribbon to the Tear & Tape. Use Paper Snips Scissors to trim the ends of the ribbon so they are flush with the left and right edges of the cardstock.
Adhere the stamped and blended white rectangle with ribbon attached to the front of the Balmy Blue card.
As you are ready to stamp using the Season Of Chic Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the snowflake image from the Season Of Chic Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Balmy Blue Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of one of the white squares. Repeat with the other white square.
Pick out the matching, open snowflake die from the Chic Dies. Put it on top of one of the stamped snowflakes on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine. Repeat with the other snowflake image.
Use Stampin' Seal to adhere one of the snowflake cut outs to the front of the card near the upper left side of the blended circle.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the other snowflake cut out to the front of the card near the lower right side of the blended circle. It should overlap the other snowflake cut out by a small amount.
Cut a 10" piece of the silver trim from the Simply Elegant Trim.
Tie a small bow in the center of the silver trim. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the trim bow to the front of the card so it is centered over the ribbon on the left side as shown.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 3 small and 2 large blue sequins from the sheet of Adhesive-Backed Glitter Sequins making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the card front as shown so the two big sequins are in the centers of the snowflake cut outs and the three small ones are scattered around.
