Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Lost Lagoon Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 3/4" x 4" from Cajun Craze Cardstock
- 1" x 4" from Cajun Craze Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 2-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
Put a piece of Grid Paper on your work surface to protect it from ink.
Mount the crab image from the Seaside Bay Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Lost Lagoon Ink Pad. DO NOT STAMP YET!
Rub a Small Blending Brush across the open Cajun Craze Ink Pad to get it inky. Very lightly rub the inky Blending Brush along the edges of the inked up crab image. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed.
Breathe on the stamp to moisten the ink. Stamp the image in the upper left corner of the vertical 4" x 5-1/2" white rectangle so the image is at an angle in the corner and goes off the top and left edges a bit.
Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy, but leave it on the block.
Repeat the steps above multiple times each time inking up the stamp, adding a little color with the Blending Brush, breathing on the stamp, and stamping it. Change the orientation of the stamp each time. Let some of the images go off the edges of the cardstock. Just remember to CLEAN THE STAMP each time so you don't get Cajun Craze Ink on the Lost Lagoon Ink Pad.
Repeat the inking steps with the crab image one more time, but this time stamp the image in the center of the small white rectangle. Then, clean the stamp and put it away.
Pick out the matching crab die from the Seaside Bay Dies. Put it on top of the stamped crab on the small white rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine. Set the crab cut out aside for now.
Unscrew the fine brush tip Water Painter and fill the barrel with water before screwing the tip back in place.
Tip: The Water Painters unscrew in the opposite direction of what you'd expect.
Put some drops of Pecan Pie Ink Refill into a container or on a large clear block or other non-porous surface. Squeeze a couple of drops of water from the Water Painter into the ink. Mix the ink and water together and get the tip of the Water Painter loaded with inky water.
Hold the inky tip of the Water Painter a couple of inches over the large, crab stamped white rectangle at a slightly above horizontal angle. Tap the brush tip end of the Water Painter sharply with your finger to make drops of inky water splatter onto the cardstock. Move the position of the Water Painter around and get more inky water on the tip as needed until you've got all the splatters you want. Set aside to allow to dry.
Tip: The closer you hold the tip of the Water Painter to the cardstock, the larger the splatters will be.
Tip: Make sure you move everything you don't want to get splatters on out of the way before splattering!
Mount the "thank you for everything" sentiment from the Seaside Bay Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Cajun Craze Ink Pad. Stamp it on the left side of the horizontal, thin, white strip so it is about 3/8" from the left edge and is slightly closer to the top edge.
Adhere the thin Cajun Craze strip to the back of the top of the stamped white strip so about 1/8" of Cajun Craze shows along the long top edge.
Pick out the jagged edge die from the Basic Borders Dies. Put it on top of the larger Cajun Craze strip on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so you will cut along one long edge of the cardstock. Run through the machine.
Adhere the jagged edge cut out strip to the back of the sentiment stamped white strip so the jagged edge pokes out along the bottom long edge.
Adhere the matted white sentiment strip to the stamped and splattered white rectangle so it is about 1-1/2" from the top. The left and right edges of all layers should be even.
Adhere the layered white rectangle to the front of the Lost Lagoon card.
Now use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the crab cut out to the front of the card so it is at a slight angle just to the right of the sentiment as shown.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 2 small and 1 large Pretty Peacock pearls from the sheet of Blooming Pearls making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the front of the card as shown.
