Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Pumpkin Pie Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic Black Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Pumpkin Pie Cardstock
- 3-3/4" x 5" of small orange plaid design Gingham Cottage 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 1-3/4" square from Basic Black Cardstock
- 1-1/4" square from Crushed Curry Cardstock
Pick out the grouping of 3 rectangles die from the Picture This Dies. Put it on top of the vertical Gingham Cottage Designer Paper rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the die is centered on the designer paper. Run through the machine.
Note: You are only using the large rectangle of designer paper with the rectangles cut out of it on this project. Keep the three small rectangle cut outs of designer paper to use on another project.
Place the designer paper with three rectangles cut out of it on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. Use the fine tip of the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to hand draw dotted and dashed lines onto the paper creating a black and orange plaid pattern.
Carefully remove a magnet from the back of the Stamparatus.
Tip: To make it easier to grab the magnets and to help keep them from breaking if they snap together, wrap them in strips of washi tape or masking tape leaving folded over pieces to grab on to.
Place the Stamparatus in front of you with the open sides of the Stamparatus on the left and bottom. Insert one hinged plate into the Stamparatus on the right side so it is in the topmost hinge space. Put the Stamparatus Foam Mat on the base of the Stamparatus.
Place the piece of Pumpkin Pie Cardstock on the base of the Stamparatus so it is vertical and is tight to the top and right sides of the Stamparatus base. Put the piece of designer paper with the rectangles cut out of the center on top of the cardstock so it is centered. Put the magnet horizontally across the center of the designer paper/cardstock rectangle to hold it in place.
Pick out the grouping of 3 bats image and the "Say Boo and Scary On!" sentiment from the Scary Cute Set. Place the stamps rubber side down on the cardstock/designer paper on the Stamparatus base so the bats are on the left side of the upper rectangle in the designer paper and the sentiment is slightly crooked and on the right side of the upper rectangle in the designer paper. Close the plate on the Stamparatus and press firmly so the stamp sticks to the plate. Open the plate.
Pick out the vampire trick-or-treater image and the Frankenstein trick-or-treater image from the Scary Cute Set. Place the stamps rubber side down on the cardstock/designer paper on the Stamparatus base so the images are in the lower rectangle in the designer paper and the feet go off the bottom edge. Close the plate on the Stamparatus and press firmly so the stamp sticks to the plate. Open the plate.
Remove the magnet and the designer paper piece.
Put the magnet back on the Pumpkin Pie rectangle so it is horizontal in the center. Make sure the top and right edges of the Pumpkin Pie rectangle are tight to the top and right edges of the Stamparatus base.
Ink up the stamps on the plate using the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. If you get excess ink on the plate, you can wipe it off with a baby wipe or tissue. Close the plate onto the cardstock on the Stamparatus base and press down firmly. Open the plate.
Tip: If the images aren't dark enough to suit you, re-ink them and repeat.
Tip: Slide a Clear-Mount Stamp Case under the plate before inking up the stamps. This gives you a firm, flat surface to push against making it easier to ink up the stamps.
Pick out the black cat die from the Scary Silhouettes Dies. Put it on top of the black square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Pick out the crescent moon die from the Scary Silhouettes Dies. Put it on top of one side of the Crushed Curry square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Repeat on the other side of the square so you have two crescent moon cut outs.
Use the Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere one of the crescent moon cut outs to the back of the black cat cut out so the yellow shows through the cats eyes. Use Paper Snip Scissors to trim off excess Crushed Curry that sticks out around the edges of the black cat cut out as needed.
Adhere the base of the black cat cut out to the back of the designer paper rectangle so the base is tucked behind the bottom left edge of the center rectangle cut out and the tail and back overlap the upper left edge of the center rectangle cut out on the top of the designer paper.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the designer paper cut out with black cat cut out attached on the stamped Pumpkin Pie rectangle.
Mount the small "Boo!" sentiment from the Scary Cute Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it three times at different angles inside the right side of the center rectangle cut out. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time.
Now, adhere the designer paper rectangle with black cat cut out attached in place on the Pumpkin Pie rectangle using Stampin' Seal and Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen.
Adhere the layered Pumpkin Pie/designer paper rectangle to the center of the large Basic Black rectangle and then to the front of the Pumpkin Pie card.
Use the Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the remaining crescent moon cut out to the upper right corner of the top rectangle on the card front as shown.
