Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a cutting and scoring tool:
- card from Pretty Peacock Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Sahara Sand Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 5-1/4" from small, black nautical instruments on light gray background design from Come Sail Away Designer Series Paper
- 2-5/8" x 3-3/8" from Pretty Peacock Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 3-1/4" from Balmy Blue Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 3-3/4" from Sahara Sand Cardstock
- 2" square from Sahara Sand Cardstock
- 3 strips each 1" x 3-1/2" from Night of Navy Cardstock
- 2 strips each 1" x 3-1/2" from Pretty Peacock Cardstock
Mount the sentiment of choice from the Sailing Home Set on an appropriately sized block. Ink it up with the Night of Navy Ink Pad. Stamp it in the upper right corner of the large Sahara Sand rectangle.
Adhere the strip of Come Sail Away Designer Paper to the bottom of the stamped Sahara Sand rectangle.
Cut three pieces of Night of Navy/Sahara Sand Baker's Twine each 6" long.
Lay the twine pieces across the cardstock/designer paper layers so they cover the seam between the two. Flip the cardstock over and fold the ends of the twine over. Adhere the ends of the twine in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips and add more SNAIL to the back of the Sahara Sand cardstock. Adhere it to the front of the Pretty Peacock card.
Pick out the wavy ribbon die from the Arts & Crafts Dies. One at a time, put it on top of the strips of Night of Navy and Pretty Peacock on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool. When done, you should have 3 Night of Navy wavy strips and 2 Pretty Peacock strips.
Start adhering the wavy strips to the Balmy Blue rectangle so they overlap each other to make waves. Start with a Night of Navy wave about 1-1/4" from the bottom and layer going down. Trim off excess on the sides and bottom.
Adhere the Balmy Blue rectangle with waves attached to the large Pretty Peacock rectangle.
Mount the large sailboat image from the Sailing Home Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Pretty Peacock Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 2-1/4" x 3-3/4" rectangle of Sahara Sand.
Use a Blender Pen to pull some of the ink towards the middle of the stamped bottom of the boat image making it a light green. Clean the Blender Pen by scribbling on Grid Paper until no more color comes off.
Pick out the large sailboat die from the Smooth Sailing Dies. Put it on top of the stamped and colored sailboat on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the boat is centered in the die. Run through the tool.
Adhere the boat cut out to the Balmy Blue rectangle so the bottom of the boat is tucked under the top waves and it is slightly to the left of center.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the rectangles to the front of the card on the left side.
Pick out the ship's wheel die from the Smooth Sailing Dies. Put it on top of the Sahara Sand square on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool. Use a die brush to remove if needed.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ship's wheel cut out to the right side of the matted rectangle on the card front so it is centered over the twine.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere a ship's wheel trinket from the Sail Away Trinkets to the center of the ship's wheel cut out.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a silver pearl from a sheet of Metallic Pearls making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the center of ship's wheel trinket.
