P layful Christmas card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Basic White Thick Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Pool Party Cardstock
- 2" x 5-1/8" of silver stripes on white background design from Silver & Gold 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper, cut so the stripes are horizontal on the vertical strip
- 2-5/8" x 3-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 3-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-1/2" square from Pool Party Cardstock
- 1-1/2" square from Basic White Cardstock
Adhere the strip silver striped Silver & Gold Designer Paper to the left side of the vertical Pool Party rectangle so a tiny bit of Pool Party shows on the top, bottom, and left edges.
Cut a 4-1/2" piece of the Pool Party 3/8" Sheer Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the cardstock/designer paper rectangle so it is about 1-1/8" from the bottom edge. Fold the ends of the ribbon over and secure the ribbon in place on the back with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the Pool Party rectangle. Adhere the rectangle to the front of the Basic White Thick card.
As you are ready to stamp using the Penguin Place Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp. Put a piece of Grid Paper on top of the Mat to protect it from ink.
Mount the set of little snowflakes image from the Penguin Place Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Pool Party Ink Pad and stamp it all over the top 2/3 of the vertical 2-5/8" x 3-1/4" white rectangle. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Let some of the images go off the edges of the cardstock. Leave the bottom 1/3 of the rectangle plain white.
Gently squeeze some Snowfall Accents Puff Paint onto the snowflake stamped white rectangle across the bottom 1/3 to form a "snowbank."
Use the Heat Tool to heat the puff paint until it gets dry and puffy.
Adhere the stamped and puff painted white rectangle to the front of the card so it is about 1" from the bottom edge and 1/2" from the right edge.
Mount the standing penguin image from the Penguin Place Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp the penguin so his head is on the bottom on the bottom edge of the 1-1/2" x 3-1/2" vertical white strip.
Unlock the Penguin Builder Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped penguin image into the punch and get it centered in the punching area of the full penguin body. Punch.
Mount the tiny, triangular beak image from the Penguin Place Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Pool Party Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the penguin punch out face so the triangular beak is pointing down.
Using Stampin' Dimensionals, adhere the completed penguin punch out to the stamped and puff painted rectangle on the card front so he is on the left side and is just above the puff paint snowbank.
Mount the "season's greetings" sentiment from the Penguin Place Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Pool Party Ink Pad and stamp it in the center of the small white square.
Pick out the smooth circle die from the Layering Circles Dies that cuts out a smooth circle that is 1-1/8" diameter. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the sentiment is centered in the circle. Run through the machine.
Pick out the smooth circle die from the Layering Circles Dies that cuts out a smooth circle that is 1-3/8" diameter. Put it on top of the Pool Party square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Adhere the sentiment circle cut out to the center of the Pool Party circle cut out.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the matted sentiment circle cut out to the front of the card as shown so it overlaps the top of the stamped and puff painted white rectangle half way and the left edge just barely overlaps the right edge of the designer paper strip.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Pool Party 3/8" Sheer Ribbon.
Slide one end of the ribbon under the ribbon already on the card front half way between the left side of the card and the left side of the stamped and puff painted white rectangle. Tie in place with a half knot. Trim the ends.
