Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Purple Posy Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Rich Razzleberry Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Purple Posy Cardstock
- 2-3/4" x 3-3/4" from Purple Posy Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-1/4" square from Rich Razzleberry Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 3-1/4" from So Saffron Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 4" from Basic Black Cardstock
Place the 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" Purple Posy rectangle on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface.
Use the brush tip of the Dark Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Blends and the ruler to draw straight lines at a slight diagonal across the Purple Posy rectangle. You need to draw six lines with some space between each line. Make sure you leave at least 1" of space in the bottom right corner with no line so you can stamp the sentiment later.
Now use the Dark and Light Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Blends to color in between the top two sets of lines, the middle two sets of lines, and the bottom two sets of lines so you have three large solid Rich Razzleberry lines with a little bit of Purple Posy showing between each when you are done.
Use the brush tip of the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker and the ruler to outline the top and bottom of each of the Rich Razzleberry stripes.
Mount the "Happy Birthday" sentiment from the Peaceful Moments Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Rich Razzleberry Ink Pad. Stamp it in the lower left corner of the striped Purple Posy rectangle.
Adhere the striped and stamped Purple Posy rectangle to the large Rich Razzleberry rectangle and then to the front of the Purple Posy card.
Pick out the smooth oval die from the Layering Ovals Dies that cuts out a smooth oval that is 3-9/16" long. Put it on top of the 2-3/4" x 3-3/4" Purple Posy rectangle on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool.
Pick out the smooth oval die from the Layering Ovals Dies that cuts out a smooth oval that is 2-9/16" long. Put it on top of the Purple Posy oval on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the bottom half of the oval die overlaps the top of the Purple Posy oval cut out and is centered side to side. Run through the tool.
Use Paper Snips to round off the sharp points left at the top of the Purple Posy oval.
Use the side of the brush tip of the Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Write Marker to carefully outline the edge of the cut Purple Posy oval.
Pick out the smooth oval die from the Layering Ovals Dies that cuts out a smooth oval that is 3-5/8" long. Put it on top of the 2-1/2" x 3-1/2" white rectangle on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool.
Pick out the smooth oval die from the Layering Ovals Dies that cuts out a smooth oval that is 3-1/8" long. Put it on top of the white oval on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool so the bottom of the oval die overlaps the top of the white oval cut out and is centered side to side leaving about 1/2" of white showing at the widest point. Run through the tool.
Use the side of the brush tip of the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to carefully outline the edge of the white smile cut out.
Use the fine tip of the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker and the ruler to draw lines from the inside curve to the outside curve of the white smile cut out to make the teeth. The lines do not have to be evenly spaced. Angle some of the lines slightly as you get up near the corners of the smile.
Adhere the outlined smile cut out with teeth drawn on to the bottom of the outlined Purple Posy cheeks cut out. Leave a little bit of Purple Posy showing on the bottom and sides of the smile cut out.
Pick out the small, open, scallop-edged and stitched heart die that cuts out a heart that is 1" wide from the Stitched Be Mine Dies. Place the heart die on top of the Rich Razzleberry square on a platform on your cutting and embossing tool. Run through the tool.
Unlock the 1" Circle Punch. Slide the strip of So Saffron Cardstock into the punch. Punch. Slide the cardstock over a bit and punch again so you have two punched out yellow circles. Leave the punch unlocked.
Hold the unlocked 1" Circle Punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide one long edge of the Basic Black Cardstock strip about half way into the punching area. Punch. Move the cardstock down slightly while still in the punch so you can see a thin crescent of black cardstock which will be punched out. Punch. Repeat so you have two narrow, black crescents to use as eyebrows.
Unlock the Apple Builder Punch. Slide the part of the remaining Basic Black Cardstock into the punch so you will punch out the curved, diamond shaped leaf. Punch. Repeat with another area of the black cardstock so you have two curved, diamond shaped leaf punch outs. Leave the punch unlocked.
Cut a long thin strip of cardstock from the remaining Basic Black Cardstock strip using Paper Snips to use as a handle. Put a small dab of SNAIL on one end. Stick the handle to the back of one of the curved, diamond shaped leaf punch outs. Use the handle to help slide the leaf punch out back into the unlocked Apple Builder Punch and get it lined up in the leaf punching area so you will punch off part of the leaf but will still have a skinny, pointy-ended, slightly curved, diamond shape to use as an eyeball. Repeat with the other leaf punch out.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the cheeks with smile attached, upside down heart nose, circle eyes, eyeballs, and eye brows on the front of the card as shown to figure out spacing.
Use the fine tip of the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker and the ruler to draw a straight line down from the dip in the middle of the nose (upside down heart) to the top of the smile. Use the fine tip of the Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker to draw in the dotted lines for whiskers on either side of the straight line.
Now, adhere everything in place to the front of the card. Use the Fine-Tip Glue Pen or Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the eyeballs and eyebrows and SNAIL to adhere everything else.
