Project Recipe
White: 4 1/4" x 11", Black: 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" and 2" x 2", DSP: 3 7/8" x 5 1/8", Glimmer: 1 1/2" x 1 3/4"...also removed white coating on the back for easier cutting with thinlits.
(For class, I attached my thinlit pcs and created a mask for sponging based on that positioning.) IN CLASS--using my mask--do your sponging first....Place the mask across opposite corners of the Music DSP.
Ink up sponge with Basic Black and do a quick pounce on scrap before rubbing the non-masked area in a circular motion. Repeat (ink/pounce/rub) until you achieve the desired darkness on both non-masked areas.
Adhere DSP to large black pc and then black to white card base.
CLEAN THE "Rejoicing in Christ" STAMP! Ink it up in Basic Black. If you want the shadow effect like on the sample and are not good with "eye-balling", stamp on the imaging sheet with the Stamp-a-ma-jig. Then ink it up again and (WITHOUT the imaging sheet) stamp it at the bottom left in the sponged area. [If no shadow is desired, skip this step.]
[If you feel like your sponged area is really wet, you need to wait a bit for this step or use the heating tool to dry it before proceeding.] CLEAN THE "Rejoicing in Christ" STAMP! Ink it up in VersaMark and stamp it at the bottom left of the card in the sponged area. [If you WANTED the shadowed look, now use your already stamped imaging sheet & stamp-a-ma-jig in the same position as when you stamped on it--positioned so it's just slightly off the already stamped sentiment.]
Hold card over embossing tray and dump embossing powder over VersaMark sentiment, making sure to cover it all.
Dump excess powder off the card into the tray and flick the back of the card to remove more excess as well.
Holding card with your fingers away from the stamped area, heat powder with the heating tool--just until all the powder looks shiny and raised. (Give one more quick look to make sure nothing still looks powdery. If it does, heat it just long enough to make it shiny.)
Run thinlits through the Big Shot--star with Glimmer and travelers with small black. HINT: I peeled white coating/backing off glimmer paper for easier cutting with thinlits.
With your thinlit pcs on the silicone sheet, apply adhesive and place pcs on the card within the light beam/non-sponged area.
