P retty card using Stampin' Up! products. The sentiment can easily be changed to make a different type of card.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Old Olive Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Poppy Parade Cardstock
- 3-3/4" x 5" from Old Olive Cardstock
- 2-5/8" square from Mango Melody Cardstock
- 2-1/2" square of stitched white lines on Poppy Parade background design from Needlepoint Nook Designer Series Paper
- 2" x 4" from Old Olive Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 3" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1/2" x 4" from Whisper White Cardstock
Insert the Old Olive rectangle into the Petal Burst Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the card stock inside on a Cutting Pad on the Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place a Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the dry embossed Old Olive rectangle to the center of the Poppy Parade rectangle and then to the front of the Old Olive card.
Adhere the square of Needlepoint Nook Designer Series Paper to the square of Mango Melody Cardstock.
Place the matted square of designer paper upside down, making sure that the lines on the designer paper are horizontal.
Cut a 4" piece of the Poppy Parade 1/4" Mini Striped Ribbon.
Fold the ribbon in half. Adhere the folded top of the ribbon to the right side of the upside down matted designer paper square using a strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive so that the loose ends of the ribbon hang down.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strip and add SNAIL to the back of the Mango Melody square. Adhere the matted square with ribbon attached to the left side of the card so the top and left side of the square are about 1/2" from the top and left side of the card.
Trim the ends of the ribbon into angles.
As you are ready to stamp using the Needle & Thread Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the sentiment of choice from the Needle & Thread Set on an appropriately sized block. Ink it up with the Poppy Parade Ink Pad. Stamp the sentiment in the center of the long, thin white strip.
Use Paper Snips to notch the right end of the sentiment strip close to the end of the sentiment. Also trim off excess cardstock on the left side of the sentiment, leaving only about 3/4" from the left edge to the start of the sentiment.
Adhere the sentiment strip to the front of the card so it is about 3/8" from the bottom of the matted designer paper square and about 1-1/4" in from the left side.
Mount the large embroidered flower image from the Needle & Thread Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Mango Melody Ink Pad. Stamp it on one side of the larger white piece.
Mount the small embroidered flower image from the Needle & Thread Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Poppy Parade Ink Pad. Stamp it on the other side of the larger white piece.
Use Paper Snips to cut out the flowers by hand.
Tip: If you have the coordinating Needlepoint Elements Dies and a die-cutting machine, you can use them to cut out the flowers instead.
Adhere the red flower cut out to the center of the orange flower cut out. Then, adhere the flowers to the front of the card using Stampin' Dimensionals so they cover the left end of the sentiment strip in the lower left corner of the matted designer paper square.
Unlock the Leaf Punch. Slide the small piece of Old Olive Cardstock into the punch. Punch.
Adhere the leaf punch out to the card front so it is sticking out from behind the flower at an angle to the upper right.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a small gem from a sheet of Gold Faceted Gems making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the center of the small flower cut out.
