Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Berry Burst Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Pretty Peacock Cardstock
- 2-3/4" x 3-1/4" of Berry Burst diagonal plaid design from Glorious Gingham 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper
- 2-1/2" x 3-1/4" from Pretty Peacock Cardstock
- 2" square from Basic White Cardstock
Insert the 4" x 5-1/4" Pretty Peacock rectangle into the crosshatched embossing folder included in the Basics 3D Embossing Folders vertically so about 2" hangs out of the bottom of the folder and won't be dry embossed. Use the line printed on the front flap of the folder to make sure it is lined up straight. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Pick out the small scallops edge, angled die from the Basic Borders Dies. Put it on top of the Glorious Gingham Designer Paper rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so you will cut about 1/4" of paper off one short edge of the paper using the center of the die. Make sure the scallops will be pointing down. Run through the machine.
Tip: Use a Post-It Note to hold the die and cardstock in place so they don't slide around.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the cut designer paper on the right edge of the vertical, dry embossed Pretty Peacock rectangle so it is even with the right edge and the top edge is about 3/4" from the top and the scallops are on the bottom.
As you are ready to stamp using the Lasting Joy Set or Ringed With Nature Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the sentiment of choice from the Lasting Joy or Ringed With Nature Set on an appropriate size block. Ink it up with the Pretty Peacock Ink Pad. Stamp the sentiment just under the scalloped edge of the designer series paper so it is centered side to side.
Now, adhere the designer paper in place.
Cut a 4-3/4" piece of the White 1/2" Iridescent Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the dry embossed and stamped Pretty Peacock rectangle with designer paper attached so it covers the seam between the dry embossed and smooth cardstock on the Pretty Peacock layer. Fold the ends of the ribbon over and secure the ribbon in place on the back with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the Pretty Peacock rectangle. Adhere the rectangle to the front of the Berry Burst card.
Unlock the Bough Punch. Hold the punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the Pretty Peacock strip into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch. Remove the Pretty Peacock strip and slide it back in so you can punch out one more small branch.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the bough punch outs to the front of the card as shown so the large one hangs down from the upper left corner of the designer paper rectangle and the two small ones stick out to the right side from the upper left corner of the designer paper and they all overlap a bit.
Mount the large flower image from the Lasting Joy Set on Block B or the poinsettia image from the Ringed With Nature Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Berry Burst Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white square.
If using the Lasting Joy Set, mount the single, tiny, open center flower image from the Lasting Joy Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Berry Burst Ink Pad. Stamp it inside the center of the previously stamped flower.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out the large flower image by hand.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the cut out flower in place so it covers the ends of the bough punch outs and the upper left corner of the designer paper as shown.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up one large and three small Pretty Peacock sequins from a sheet of Adhesive-Backed Sequins Trio making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere one small one to the middle of the flower. Adhere the remaining three in a rough triangle on the designer paper as shown.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the White 1/2" Iridescent Ribbon.
Slide one end of the ribbon piece under the ribbon already on the card front and tie in place with a half knot so the knot is centered over the left side of the designer paper. Trim the ends of the ribbon.
