Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer and Paper Snips Scissors:
- card from Pecan Pie Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Lost Lagoon Cardstock
- 1-3/4" x 4-3/4" of light brown chicken wire on darker brown background design from Flight & Airy 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 1-1/2" x 4-1/2" of light blue/green leaves, stems, and small birds on slightly darker blue/green background design from Flight & Airy 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, cut so the birds are vertical on the vertical rectangle
- 2" x 3-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- bird cut out with Paper Snips Scissors from various birds on white background design from Flight & Airy 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
Insert the Lost Lagoon rectangle into the crosshatched embossing folder included in the Basics 3D Embossing Folders. Use the line printed on the front flap of the folder to make sure it is lined up straight. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Adhere the dry embossed Lost Lagoon rectangle to the front of the Pecan Pie card.
Adhere the piece of chicken wire pattern Flight & Airy Designer Paper to the left side of the card front so about 1/4" of Lost Lagoon shows along the top, left, and bottom edges.
Adhere the piece of leaves, stems, and small birds Flight & Airy Designer Paper to the front of the card so it is centered top to bottom on the chickenwire designer paper and overlaps it on the right side by about 7/8".
Pick out the rectangle die that cuts out a rectangle that is 1-3/4" x 3-1/8" from the Deckled Rectangles Dies. Put it on top of the white rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Rub a Small Blending Brush across the open Lost Lagoon Ink Pad to get it inky. Rub the inky Blending Brush around in a rough oval on the top of the white rectangle cut out. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed.
Tip: I just clean my Blending Brushes when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
As you are ready to stamp using the Hooray For Surprises Set, place the cardstock or designer paper on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the "You're the Best" sentiment from the Hooray For Surprises Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Pecan Pie Ink Pad. Stamp it on the bottom of the vertical, blended rectangle cut out so it overlaps the bottom of the blended oval just a bit as shown.
Adhere the blended and stamped white rectangle cut out to the front of the card so it is about 1" from the top and about 1/2" from the right side. It should overlap the right side of the stems, leaves, and birds designer paper strip a bit.
If you haven't done so yet, use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out a bird by hand from the Flight & Airy Designer Paper.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the bird cut out to the center of the blended oval on the white rectangle so it is centered side to side and centered above the sentiment.
Cut a 3" piece of the Gold 1/8" Faux Leather Trim.
Tie a half knot in the center of the trim. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the trim knot to the front of the card at a slight angle as shown so it overlaps the lower left corner of the rectangle cut out.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 2 small cork rounds from a sheet of Adhesive-Backed Cork Rounds making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the front of the card as shown so they are in a line just below the right corner of the rectangle cut out.
