Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Poppy Parade Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Daffodil Delight Cardstock
- 3-3/4" x 5" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2-1/4" square from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 1-1/2" from Granny Apple Green Cardstock
- 1" square from Poppy Parade Cardstock
- 1" x 2" from Daffodil Delight Cardstock
As you are ready to stamp using the Charming Sentiments Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the "woo-hoo!" sentiment from the Charming Sentiments Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Poppy Parade Ink Pad. Stamp it at an angle in the upper left corner of the vertical 3-3/4" x 5" white rectangle as shown. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy, but leave the stamp on the block.
Re-ink the "woo-hoo!" sentiment on Block G with the Daffodil Delight Ink Pad. Stamp it at the same angle just above and just below the previously stamped Poppy Parade sentiment as shown. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Offset them slightly as well. Clean the stamp using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy and put it away.
Mount the set of three flowers on stems image from the Fluffiest Friends Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the lower left corner of the white rectangle so it is about 3/8" from the left edge and about 3/4" from the bottom edge.
Place the stamped white rectangle on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Light and Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends to color in the petals of the leftmost flower and the centers of the other two flowers.
Use the Light and Dark Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends to color in the petals of the other two flowers and the center of the yellow flower.
Use the Light and Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends to color in the leaves and lightly outline the stems.
Use the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends to remove any excess color.
Adhere the stamped and colored white rectangle the to the center of the large Daffodil Delight rectangle and then to the front of the Poppy Parade card.
Pick out the large balloon die and the small balloon die from the Fluffiest Friends Dies. Put the big balloon die on top of the small Poppy Parade square and the small balloon die on one side of the small Daffodil Delight rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Make sure the dies and cardstock do NOT overlap. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces. Use the small balloon die to cut another small balloon from the other side of the Daffodil Delight rectangle.
Cut three pieces of Linen Thread each about 2-3/4" long.
Use a small piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive to adhere one of the Linen Thread pieces to the back of the big Poppy Parade balloon cut out so the thread hangs down from below.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape and adhere the Poppy Parade balloon with thread attached at a slight angle in the upper right corner of the card as shown.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the remaining Linen Thread pieces to the backs of the small Daffodil Delight balloon cut outs so the threads hang down from below.
Remove the protective backings from the Dimensionals and adhere the small Daffodil Delight balloon cut outs with thread attached to the front of the card as shown.
Use a small piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive to hold the bottoms of the thread pieces gathered together at a slight angle. Make sure the adhesive will be covered by the cat cut out in a later step.
Mount the cat with flower pot image from the Fluffiest Friends Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white square.
Pick out the matching cat with flower pot die from the Fluffiest Friends Dies. Put it on top of the stamped image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Place the cat with flower pot cut out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends to color in the center of the flower.
Use the Light and Dark Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends to color in the flower petals.
Use the Light and Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends to color in the leaf and lightly outline the stem.
Use the Light and Dark Cajun Craze Stampin' Blends to color in the flower pot.
Use the Light Flirty Flamingo Stampin' Blends to color in the cat's nose.
Use the Light and Dark Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends to color in the cat's nose, ears, paws, and tail and to outline the entire cat and highlight the fur marks.
Use the Light and Dark Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends to color in the rest of the cat and blend the fur colors.
Use the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends to remove any excess color.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the colored cat cut out to the front of the card so it covers the right edge of the flowers a bit and covers the gathered ends of the threads from the balloons.
Pick out both of the grass strip dies from the Fluffiest Friends Dies. Put them on top of the Granny Apple Green rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the grass cut outs to the front of the card so one overlaps the bottoms of the flower stems and the other overlaps the cat cut out on the lower right side as shown.
