S imple, pretty card using amazing new products from Stampin' Up!
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer series paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Whisper White Thick Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Old Olive Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 3-3/4" of Old Olive ombre stripes without lines design from Color Theory Designer Series Paper Stack, cut so that the stripes are horizontal
- 2-1/2" square from Old Olive Cardstock
Pick out the open large and open small leaf framelits from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits. Place the rectangle of white cardstock on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the leaf framelits at angles on the right side of the cardstock with the large leaf on top so the stem is to the right and the small leaf on bottom so the stem is to the left. The large leaf should be about 1/4" from the top and 1/2" from the right side. The small leaf should be about 1/4" from the bottom and 1/2" from the right side. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Mount the sentiment of choice from the Colorful Seasons Photopolymer Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Old Olive Ink Pad. Stamp it in the lower left corner of the white rectangle with the leaves cut out of the right side.
Tip: The "just breathe" stamp won't work on this card as is, but you could ink up the words one at a time using an Old Olive Marker and stamp them one at a time in the corner if you wanted. Choose the correct size Clear Block for the sentiment you decide to use.
Fill an Aqua Painter with water.
Clear your work area so that no ink will get splattered on anything you don't want to get splattered.
Close the Old Olive Ink Pad and squeeze the pad in the middle. Open the pad, but leave the lid sticking off to the side. You should have a puddle of ink in the lid.
Squeeze the Aqua Painter over the open lid to get several drops of water in the puddle of ink. Dip the brush tip of the Aqua Painter into the puddle and swirl it around to get lots of watery ink on the brush. Hold the Aqua Painter over the white cardstock and sharply tap the end of the barrel near the brush to make drops of ink fly off. Repeat several times until you have lots of splatters over the cardstock. Hold the brush over different areas at different angles and different heights. Get more watery ink on the brush tip as needed.
Adhere the piece of Color Theory Designer Series Paper to the back of the stamped and splattered white cardstock so that the stripes show through the leaf cutouts.
Adhere the white rectangle with designer paper attached to the back to the large Old Olive rectangle. Then, adhere it to the front of the Whisper White Thick card front.
Pick out the detailed leaf thinlit from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits. Place the small Old Olive square on the Precision Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the detailed leaf thinlit on top. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush to remove the cardstock.
Place the detailed leaf cut out upside down on one side of a Silicone Craft Sheet. Cut a Stamping Sponge into quarters and clamp the triangle edge of one quarter in a large binder clip. Squeeze a small amount of Multipurpose Liquid Glue on one corner of the Silicone Craft Sheet. Dab the sponge into the glue and then lightly onto the back of the detailed leaf cut out. Flip the detailed leaf cut out over and adhere it to the front of the card so it is to the right of the sentiment with the stem pointing down to the left. Left it overlap the two leaf cutouts a little.
Cut a 16" piece of Old Olive Baker's Twine. Double it over on itself. Tie a small bow in the middle. Trim the ends.
Adhere the bow to the detailed leaf cut out using a Mini Glue Dot so it is at the junction between the leaf and the stem.
Adhere three Old Olive Glitter Enamel Dots randomly to the card front.
