V intage look Christmas card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and foil sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Garden Green Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 3/4" x 4-1/4" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 4" from Garden Green Cardstock
- 3/4" x 1-1/4" of red foil sheets from Red & Green 12" x 12" Foil Sheets
Insert the large Very Vanilla rectangle into the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder so the music will run horizontally across the horizontal rectangle. Use the line printed on the front flap of the folder to make sure it is lined up straight. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Rub a Blending Brush across the open Crumb Cake Ink Pad to get it inky. Lightly rub the inky Blending Brush over the top and around the edges of the dry embossed vanilla rectangle. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed.
Tip: I just clean my Blending Brushes when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Unscrew the fine brush tip Water Painter and fill the barrel with water before screwing the tip back in place.
Tip: The Water Painters unscrew in the opposite direction of what you'd expect.
Put some drops of Crumb Cake Ink Refill into a container or on a large clear block or other non-porous surface. Squeeze a couple of drops of water from the Water Painter into the ink. Mix the ink and water together and get the tip of the Water Painter loaded with inky water.
Hold the inky tip of the Water Painter a couple of inches over the dry embossed and blended vanilla rectangle at a slightly above horizontal angle. Tap the brush tip end of the Water Painter sharply with your finger to make drops of inky water splatter onto the cardstock. Move the position of the Water Painter around and get more inky water on the tip as needed until you've got all the splatters you want. Set aside to allow to dry.
Tip: The closer you hold the tip of the Water Painter to the cardstock, the larger the splatters will be.
Tip: Make sure you move everything you don't want to get splatters on out of the way before splattering!
Unlock the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch. Slide one short edge of the thin vanilla strip into the right side of the punch (the side of the punch with the flatter top) as far as it will go. Punch.
Mount the "merry christmas" sentiment from the Christmas To Remember Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Garden Green Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the punched vanilla strip closer to the punched end with the punched end on the right side.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut off the excess cardstock on the left side of the sentiment so there is about 1/4" between the end of the cardstock and the start of the sentiment.
Use the side of the brush tip of the Real Red Stampin' Write Marker to carefully outline the edges of the sentiment strip punch out.
If the dry embossed, blended, and splattered vanilla music rectangle is dry, then adhere the rectangle to the front of the Garden Green card.
Adhere the cut down and outlined sentiment strip punch out to the card front near the top and about 3/4" from the left edge.
Unlock the Holly Border Punch. Slide one long edge of the Garden Green strip into the punch so the edge of the cardstock hits the raised edge at the bottom of the punching area. Punch. Keep the larger leaves you've punched out to use on this card.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere two of the larger holly leaf punch outs to the card front so they cover the left end of the sentiment strip punch out and point towards the upper left corner of the card. They should overlap each other a bit.
Pick out the set of three small, slightly tear-drop-shaped circles die from the Pansy Dies. Put it on top of the red foil sheet piece on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the red side is facing up. Run through the machine.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the small, shiny, red slightly tear-drop-shaped circles to the front of the card at the base of the leaves. They should cover the rest of the end of the sentiment strip punch out and overlap each other a tiny bit.
