Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- 2-3/4" x 5-3/4" from cardstock (I used Sweet Sorbet and Daffodil Delight)
- 1-1/4" x 2-3/4" of pattern of choice from Bee Mine 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, make sure patterns face the correct way on the horizontal rectangle
- 1-1/2" x 4" from Basic White Cardstock
- patterns cut out by hand using Paper Snips Scissors from Bee Mine 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
Score the 2-3/4" x 5-3/4" cardstock pieces at 3" and 2-3/4". Fold on the score lines to make a folder.
Use the handheld circle punch to punch a hole in the center of the 1/4" wide base of the folder for the lollipop stick to fit through.
Unfold the folder. Slide one corner into the angle of the Very Best Trio Punch that punches a straight edge corner. Make sure the edges of the cardstock butt up against the guides on either side of the punching area. Punch. Repeat on the other 3 corners.
Slide one of the resulting angles at the top of the folder into the side of the Very Best Trio Punch that punches a ribbon slit. Make sure the top of the angle is centered side to side on the punch. Punch. Repeat with the other angle on the other side.
As you are ready to stamp using the Bee My Valentine Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the "Happy Valentine's Day" sentiment from the Bee My Valentine Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Sweet Sorbet Ink Pad or Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the back of the folder so it will be right side up when the folder is placed around the lollipop. Leave a little space at the bottom for the child to write the name of the person they are giving the Valentine to and/or their own name to show who it is from.
Note: If you are making multiples using different colors, remember to clean the stamp between colors using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy so you don't mess up your ink pads.
For folders with a strip of designer paper across the center:
Mount the "bee mine" sentiment from the Bee My Valentine Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Sweet Sorbet Ink Pad or Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the lower right corner of the front of the folder so it will be right side up when the folder is placed around the lollipop.
Or, mount the "you're as sweet as honey" sentiment from the Bee My Valentine Set on Block H. Carefully ink up only the words "sweet as honey" by pressing only that part of the stamp to the open Sweet Sorbet Ink Pad or Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the front of the folder along the bottom edge so it will be right side up when the folder is placed around the lollipop.
Note: If you are making multiples using different colors, remember to clean the stamps between colors using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy so you don't mess up your ink pads.
If using a strip of designer paper across the center, adhere it in place now.
For folders with the "you make my heart buzz" sentiment, mount that sentiment from the Bee My Valentine Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Sweet Sorbet Ink Pad or Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in a lower corner of the front of the folder so it will be right side up when the folder is placed around the lollipop.
Note: If you are making multiples using different colors, remember to clean the stamp between colors using the Stampin' Scrub and Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and/or Simply Shammy so you don't mess up your ink pads.
If you haven't already done so, cut out some images from the Bee Mine 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper using Paper Snips Scissors. Adhere them in place using Stampin' Dimensionals, Mini Stampin' Dimensionals, or Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen.
If you cut out bees from the designer paper, you can just cut off legs and antenna. Then, you can draw them back in by hand using the fine point of the Basic Black Marker.
For folders with the "you make my heart buzz" sentiment, mount the small, solid heart image from the Bee My Valentine Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Sweet Sorbet Ink Pad. Stamp it in blank spaces around the front of the folder making sure to re-ink the stamp each time and make sure the hearts will be right side up when the folder is placed around the lollipop.
For folders with a large bee on them:
Mount the bee stripes and stinger image from the Bee My Valentine Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the horizontal white strip leaving room to punch it out.
Mount the solid oval bee body image from the Bee My Valentine Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Daffodil Delight Ink Pad. Stamp it over the top of the previously stamped stripes and stinger so the edges all line up.
Unlock the Bee Builder Punch. Hold the punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the stamped bee body image into the punch and get it centered in the bee body punching area. Punch. Leave the punch unlocked. Keep ALL the pieces.
Mount the outlined wings image from the Bee My Valentine Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Daffodil Delight Ink Pad. Stamp it on the horizontal white strip leaving room to punch it out.
Slide the stamped wings into the unlocked Bee Builder Punch holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Get the wings centered in the large heart (wings) punching area. Punch. Keep ALL the pieces. Leave the punch unlocked.
Mount the bee antennae image of choice from the Bee My Valentine Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it on the remainder of the large white strip.
Slide the stamped antennae into the unlocked Bee Builder Punch holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Get the antennae centered in the small heart punching area. Punch.
Mount the bee face image of choice from the Bee My Valentine Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the bee body punch out so it is centered in the yellow area with the yellow area on the side of the bee body that you want to be facing left or right.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the wings and antennae hearts to the back of the body punch out as shown.
Adhere the assembled bee to the center of the designer paper strip on the front of the folder.
Slide the lollipop stick into the hole in the center of the folder.
Close the folder around the lollipop. Cut a piece of ribbon long enough to slide through the ribbon slits at the top of the folder and tie in place with a half knot. Trim the ends.
