Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Petal Pink Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Poppy Parade Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" multi-colored stars on white background design from Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper
- 3-1/4" x 3-3/4" from Petal Pink Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 3-1/4" from Poppy Parade Cardstock
- 2 pieces each 2" x 3" from Whisper White Cardstock
- 2 daisies punched out of the white dots on Petal Pink background design from Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper, punched out with the Daisy Punch
- tiny scrap of Petal Pink background design from Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper
Shake the bottle of Frost White Shimmer Paint while the lid is on tight. Remove the lid and place it on some Grid Paper on your work surface open end up. Poke a Sponge Dauber down into the lid to pick up some of the shimmer paint. Rub the shimmer paint all over one of the 2" x 3" rectangles of Whisper White Cardstock. Get more shimmer paint on the dauber as needed. Put the lid back on the bottle and shake again if necessary. Set the white cardstock aside to dry thoroughly.
Mount the lady with a hat image from the Beautiful You Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it in the center of the other 2" x 3" Whisper White rectangle. Set the stamped image aside to let it dry. Leave the stamp on the block.
Adhere the stars Twinkle Twinkle Designer Paper to the large Poppy Parade rectangle. Then, adhere that to the front of the Petal Pink card.
Pick out the large, open, filigree-edged framelit from the Stitched Labels Framelits. Place the Petal Pink rectangle on the Precision Base Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the filigree-edged framelit on top. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush to remove the pieces.
Pick out the oval framelit from the Layering Ovals Framelits that cuts out an oval that is 1-13/16" wide. Place the small rectangle of Poppy Parade Cardstock on the Cutting Pad on top of the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the oval framelit on top. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
If the shimmer paint on the one rectangle is dry, proceed to the next step.
Mount the "Oh, darling, you are fabulous" sentiment from the Stitched All Around Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Poppy Parade Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the shimmery white rectangle.
Pick out the oval framelit from the Layering Ovals Framelits that cuts out an oval that is 1-9/16" wide. Place the stamped shimmery cardstock on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the oval framelit on top so it is centered over the sentiment. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the sentiment oval to the Poppy Parade oval. Then, adhere them to the center of the Petal Pink filigree label.
Adhere the label to the card front so it is about 1/2" in from the left side and about 3/4" down for the top.
Make sure you have some paper (Grid Paper works great) at your work space.to protect the work surface. The Stampin' Blends Markers will bleed through the cardstock that you are coloring so you need to protect your work surface.
Place the stamped lady image on the work paper and start coloring with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas. Use the light colors first and add highlights with the darker colors. If needed to blend the colors, go over things again with the lighter colors. Work on one area at a time so the inks will be wet and will blend easier.
Use the Dark and Light Petal Pink Markers to color in the lady's face, neck, and arms.
Use the Dark and Light Poppy Parade Markers to color in the top of the lady's dress and the underside of her hat.
Use the Color Lifter Marker to remove any color that got anywhere you don't want it.
Use Paper Snips to cut out the lady. Make sure you leave some white space below the bottom of the image to be able to adhere the dress petals.
If you haven't already done so, use the Daisy Punch to punch out two daisies from the Petal Pink background design from Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper.
Tip: Keep the scraps to stamp the lady's hat on and to punch out an extra petal or two if needed.
Use Paper Snips to cut off the petals on the two daisies. Throw away the remaining circles from the center of the daisies.
Put a tiny dot of Fine-Tip Glue Pen on the narrow end of each petal (one at a time) and adhere them in layers to the lady image. Start just below her waist and adhere 4 overlapping petals. Adhere four more in a layer below that tucking the ends up under the previous layer. Do another layer of 4 the same way. End with a layer of 3 or 4 petals in the same way.
Re-ink the top of the lady image using the Memento Pad. Stamp the top of the image onto a scrap of the Petal Pink background design from Twinkle Twinkle Designer Series Paper so you get the hat.
Use Paper Snips to carefully cut out the top of the hat.
Put a tiny dot of Fine-Tip Glue Pen on the back of the hat cut out. Adhere it to the top of the hat on the lady image.
Cut a 1-1/2" piece of Petal Pink 1/4" ribbon from the Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack.
Put a small strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the back of the lady image near her waist. Remove the protective backing.
Fold the piece of ribbon in half horizontally to make it about 1/8" wide.
Adhere one end of the folded ribbon to the Tear & Tape on the back of the lady so the ribbon will overlap the top of the first row of dress petals.
Wrap the folded ribbon around the lady's waist. Adhere the other end of the folded ribbon to the back of the lady with another small strip of Tear & Tape Adhesive. Leave the protective backing in place.
Put some Stampin' Dimensionals on the back of the lady. Remove the protective backings and adhere the lady to the right side of the card front. Let the left side of her skirt overlap the right side of the label a tiny bit.
Carefully peel up a Poppy Parade bow from a sheet of Santa's Workshop Enamel Shapes making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the lady's waist at a slight angle on the right side.
