C ute handmade treat bags for the holidays using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- 2 pieces each 4-3/4" x 5-1/4" of matching designer paper from Beary Christmas 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, if there is a pattern, make sure it will be vertical on the half bag cut outs
- 2-1/4" square from Basic White Cardstock
- various images cut out by hand from Beary Christmas 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
Pick out the half bag die from the Tricks & Treats Dies. Put the half bag die on top of one of the designer paper rectangles on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Make sure any design is vertical and will be upright on the cut out piece. Run through the machine. Repeat with the other designer paper rectangle.
Fold the half bag cut outs along all score lines. Use the Bone Folder to get sharp creases.
Put strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive along the thin flaps on the ends of the half bag cut outs. Remove the protective backings and adhere the half bag cut outs together to form an open rectangular tube.
Fold the bottom flaps in to form the bottom of the bag. Use strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the edges of the big flaps to hold everything together. Use a Bone Folder to firmly press the bottom flaps together from inside the bag.
Pinch the top of the bag together. Use the handheld circle punch to punch two holes through all the layers along the top of the bag in the center about 1/2" from the top. Try to keep the holes in line with each other.
Fill the bag with treats.
Cut a 10" piece of the Balmy Blue 3/8" Sparkle Ribbon so it has a sharp angle on each end.
Pinch the filled bag shut and thread the ribbon through the holes in the top of the bag. Tie in place with a knot on the front of the bag. Trim the ends of the ribbon.
As you are ready to stamp using the Beary Cute Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the "warm wishes" sentiment from the Beary Cute Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Night Of Navy Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white square.
Pick out the circle die that cuts out a 1-3/4" circle from the Deckled Circles Dies. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the sentiment. Run through the machine.
Use the side of the brush tip of the Balmy Blue Stampin' Write Marker to carefully outline the edge of the sentiment circle cut out.
Use the handheld circle punch to punch a hole in the top of the sentiment circle.
Cut a 5" piece of the silver trim from the Simply Elegant Trim.
Fold the piece of trim in half.
Poke the folded end of the trim piece through the hole in the top of the sentiment circle cut out from the back side. Pull it through a bit. Thread the open ends of the trim piece through the loop and pull tight.
Slide one open end of the trim piece under the knot in the ribbon on the front of the bag. Tie the trim in place using a knot. Trim the ends.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out any images from the Beary Christmas 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper that you want. Adhere them to the front of the bag using Stampin' Seal, Stampin' Dimensionals, or Mini Stampin' Dimensionals as desired.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 1 large and 2 small blue sequins from the sheet of Adhesive-Backed Glitter Sequins making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the tag as shown.
