H ere's a great format for getting the most out of your 6 x 6 Designer Series Papers.
Project Recipe
Measurements:
Copper Clay Card Base
- 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", score @ 4 1/4"
Crumb Cake Layer (1st layer)
- 3 1/2" x 4 3/4"
Basic White Layer (2nd Layer)
- 3 1/4" x 4 1/2" - cut 2
DSP
- 3" x 6" - measure the 3" cut from the
top of the design. Do not
cut across the middle of the
pattern.
Ribbon
6 1/2" - 1 pc
3 1/2" - 1 pc
Fold the card base on the score line and burnish with a bone folder.
Attach the Crumb Cake layer to the card front.
Take the 3" x 6" piece of DSP and cut three 1" strips, starting at the top of the strip. Set aside the 3" x 3" piece that is left over.
Take the 3 1/4" x 4 1/2" piece of Basic White card stock and start attaching the 1" pieces of the DSP, making sure to lay them down based on the pattern.
NOTE - You can vary how you attach the strips. In the card sample, I laid down 3 consecutive strips and stamped the sentiment at the bottom.
You could do one strip at the top, and leave a space for the sentiment. Then follow with the other 2 coordinating strips. There are several ways to use this layout.
Once you've decided how to lay out your DSP strips, choose your sentiment and stamp it in the blank space using Memento ink.
Take the 6 1/2" piece of ribbon and wrap it around the left-hand side of the layer with the DSP strips. Adhere the ends to the back of the layer with double-sided adhesive.
Using dimensionals, attach that layer over the Crumb Cake layer on the card front.
Take the 3 1/2" piece of ribbon, slip it under the 6 1/2" piece, and tie a knot. Adjust where you want the knot to be by sliding it up or down the 6 1/2" piece. Once it's where you want it, you can place a small glue dot under the knot to keep it in place. Trim the ribbon ends.
Take the 3" x 3" piece of leftover DSP, and die cut 2 different leaf pieces, using the opposite side of the DSP as what you used for the strips. You want coordination with the strips, not necessarily matching them.
Take one of the leaves and using dimensionals, attach it to the card front.
Take the 2nd leaf and attach it to the 2nd piece of 3 1/4" x 4 1/2" piece of Basic White cardstock. Stamp your sentiment to this piece and attach it to the inside of your card.
Here's another variation of this card layout with the 2 DSP strips layered at the top and the 3rd one at the bottom.
