A n elegant 4” x 6” Watercoloured Easter Card with a subtle dry embossed effect.
Project Recipe
Take a piece of 8”x6” Thick Whisper White Cardstock and, with the long edge butted up to the top of your Trimmer/Score Board, score at 4”. Fold and burnish the scoreline to form your card base.
Take a piece of 5 13/16” x 3 13/16” Whisper White Cardstock and, using the Stamparatus, line up the floral border stamp so that the two ends of the borders are just below the centre line. Ink the stamp up with Jet Black StaZon and stamp the image.
Rotate the piece 180 degrees and repeat the stamping.
Take another piece of 5 13/16” x 3 13/16” and, using the Stamparatus again, line up the ‘’May His precious GIFT be yours’ Stamp in the centre. Ink up the stamp with Jet Black StaZon and stamp the image.
Using the single bud stamp, line this up above the text, ink with Jet Black StaZon and stamp the image. Rotate the Cardstock and, after checking that the image lines up below the text, ink and stamp the image.
Take a piece of scrap Whisper White Cardstock and, using your AquaPainter and a small blob of Grapefruit Grove ReInker, water the ink down and colour wash the scrap.
Once dry, using Jet Black StaZon, ink up the ‘Rejoicing In His Grace’ image and stamp this in the centre of the washed area.
Using your Big Shot and the #3 Stitched Oval Die, cut out the ‘Rejoicing’ text.
Use the Subtle Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to add texture to the two stamped 5 13/16” x 3 13/16” panels.
Using your Watercolour Pencils, colour in the flowers and leaves on both stamped panels. Using a damp AquaPainter, brush over the pencil marks to turn them into watercolour. Allow to dry. As a personal preference I like to spread the colour outside of the lines, but feel free to stay within them if you prefer.
Using your Snips, carefully cut into the centre of the border image and ‘fussy cut’ around the inside of the stamped and water coloured image to form a frame.
Attach the border panel to the front of your card base using liquid adhesive.
Using strips of Tear & Tape, attach a length of Whisper White Flax Ribbon to the centre of the card, folding it back on itself twice as shown.
Using Stampin’ Dimensionals attach the colourwashed panel over the Flax ribbon. Cut out the thin cross from the Cross of Hope Framelits in Champagne Foil. Attach this to the front of your card as shown using liquid adhesive on the bottom of the cross and halved Mini Dimensionals on the top.
Stamp a Dove from the His Grace Stamp set and watercolour the sprig of leaves in green before fussy cutting it out with your Snips. Attach this with liquid adhesive to the centre of the cross.
Lastly, attach the ‘May His precious GIFT be yours’ panel to the inside of your card.
Your card is now finished - sit back and admire your handiwork!
