T
he Mountain Air Bundle has lots of possibilities, especially for those of us living in Colorado. Pair it up with Stitched Rectangles and you can create a card that looks like a true framed work of art.
Project Recipe
Score and fold 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 Smoky Slate Cardstock at 4 1/4 to create card base.
Mountain Air Stamp Set is a Reversible Stamp Set. Use the back side of the mountain stamp, stamp off with Smoky Slate and stamp so the bottom of the stamp is just above center lengthwise on the 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Seaside Spray.
Repeat Step 2 on 2 x 5 1/2 Seaside Spray.
Reverse the mountain stamp to the detailed side. Stamp with Smoky Slate over what was stamped in step 2.
Stamp the mountain details with Smoky Slate on the other piece of Seaside Spray previously stamped with "shadow" in step 3. Set aside until die cutting steps.
On the larger Seaside Spray previously stamped with the mountains, stamp the birds by stamping off and stamp in the sky just above the mountains.
On the same larger Seaside spray, using back side of the clouds stamp, stamp clouds after stamping off using the Whisper White Craft Ink.
Reverse the cloud stamp to the detailed side and stamp over the previously stamped clouds but with full strength Whisper White Craft Ink.
Use Stampin' Chalk Marker to add snow to mountains on larger Seaside Spray. Set aside to fully dry.
Use Stampin' Chalk Marker to add snow to mountains on smaller Seaside Spray. Set aside to fully dry.
On the 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Pear Pizzazz, with Pear Pizzazz ink, stamp tree details near the center of the paper lengthwise.
Stamp tree details stamp on masking paper and cut off along the bottom edge.
Using the mask several times and moving the detail tree stamp back and forth, create the "foreground". Use Blender Pen if you would like to smooth out the color of the "foreground".
Die cutting time. Cut out the mountains on the smaller Seaside Spray and cut the Pear Pizzazz stamped with the trees. Also, cut out the 2 evergreen trees.
Using the largest Stitched Rectangle as a guide, arrange the three pieces, larger Seaside Spray, Seaside Spray with cut out mountains and the Pear Pizzazz with the trees. Use Removable adhesive to hold them together.
Once you are happy with the arrangement of the pieces, attach the largest Stitched Rectangle Die using post its.
Run through Die Cutting. Be sure it has cut all the way through as there are multiple layers. Once you are happy with the cut, remove the die. If necessary trim away any edges that may have stayed.
Now permanently attach the three pieces together keeping it all squared up. Attach cut out mountains with glue dots so they have a slight amount of lift. Attach Pear Pizzazz with stamped trees using Dimensionals. Before attaching the Mossy Meadow Trees, we will cut the frame so we can position them exactly where we want.
Using the 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Thick Whisper White and the two largest Stitched Rectangles, carefully arrange on the paper trying to keep the gap the same all around. If you are having trouble, cut the largest one first then attach the next one inside and cut again.
Here is a photo of cutting the largest one first then attaching the next one inside and cut again.
Laying the frame on your stamped pieces, decide where you place the evergreen trees.
Use a small piece of mini-dimensional edge at the very top of the tree. Glue the bottom part very close to the edge.
Trim off bottom of evergreen trees.
Attach the 1/8 strips of "dimensional" around the frame. On the samples, I should have used 2 Stacked Dimensionals on the Pear Pizazz piece when I attached to the others, or used the strip all the way around the frame. Take a look at the sample. I will probably go with the strip all the way around in the future. NOTE: If you are cutting shorter pieces for the sides of your frame, be sure to stop the strip before the green piece or trees, otherwise you will have a bump.
Taking into account how much of the strips of Dimensionals you decided to use, apply a small amount of glue where the strips will not be touching.
Very carefully attach the frame. The corner of the Stamparatus or Scoring Tool can help keep everything squared and on the edge.
Attach all to card front (the one you created way back in Step 1.)
If desired, stamp mountains with Smoky Slate on bottom of the Whisper White Thick cardstock piece from the center of the frame. In the sample I added some birds for fun (and to cover some oops).
In the sample I also stamped the mountains on the 4 x 5 1/4 Seaside Spray
Attach white to Seaside Spray cut to 4 x 5 1/4 and then all to inside of the card.
Sentiments are your choice. In the sample, The "Rest & Relax" was stamped with Versamark and heat embossed. Then trimmed by hand.
The sentiment inside the sample card was stamped with Blueberry Bushel because I felt the Seaside Spray was too light.
Stamp envelope as desired, it may take a little time to dry.
