C ASEd from the 2018/19 Annual Catalogue, this 4" x 6" Christmas card features handstamped Mistletoe tied with a bow & a 'joy & love' banner greeting, finished with a little bling.
Project Recipe
Cut a piece of Shaded Spruce Cardstock to measure 8" x 6" (20.4cm x 15.2cm) and score it with the long side to the top at 4" (10.2cm). Fold the card along the score line and burnish it with your Bone Folder.
(To save on cardstock, I cut my 6" x 4" bases slightly shorter on the 6" side so I can get 2 bases from an A4 sheet of cardstock. If you would like to do this, then your card should measure 5 27/32" (14.8cm) - yes it's a bit fiddly, but I think it's worth it for the extra base).
Cut a piece of Whisper White Cardstock measuring 5" x 3" (12.7cm x 7.6cm)
(If using my odd measurements, the long side needs to measure 4 27/32" (12.3cm))
Ink the Mistletoe stamp shown with Granny Apple Green ink and stamp onto your cardstock panel about 1/2" (1.7cm) from the top edge.
Ink the Bow Outline stamp with Blueberry Bushel ink and, lining it up with the gap in the Mistletoe stems, stamp the outline.
Ink the Bow Filler stamp with Blueberry Bushel ink. Stamp on a piece of scrap paper.
Without re-inking the stamp, line up with the bow outline and stamp. This gives a 'second generation' image, so the same colour but a lighter shade - a good way to get more out of a single ink pad.
Using each Fir Sprig stamp in turn, ink them with Granny Green ink and stamp beneath the bow, with the sprigs lifting upwards.
Cut a piece of Whisper White Cardstock measuring 5 3/4" x 3 3/4" (14.6cm x 9.4cm).
Ink each Fir Sprig stamp in turn with Granny Apple Green ink, and making sure the image is the same way up as shown, stamp one in the top left & bottom right corners, and the other in the bottom left and top right corners as shown.
(If you are using my odd measurements, then the long side of this piece needs to measure 5 19/32" (14.2cm))
Cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock to measure 5" x 3/4" (10.4cm x 1.8cm) and snip the ends to form a banner as shown - or to make it even easier, use the Stampin' UP! Triple Banner Punch, making sure you add enough extra length so the finished banner measures 5".
Ink the 'joy & love' stamp with Blueberry Bushel ink and stamp in the centre of the banner strip.
Cut a piece of Under The Mistletoe Designer Series Paper to measure 6" x 4" (10.2cm x 7.6cm). I used the Real Red with Whisper White filigree diamond shapes.
(If using my odd measurements, the long side needs to be 5 27/32" (14.8cm))
Cut a strip of DSP measuring 3 3/4" x 1/2" (9cm x 1.3cm) using the Old Olive and Night Of Navy plaid design.
You are now ready to build your card.
Attach the Real Red piece of Designer Series Paper to the front of your card base.
Layer the Mistletoe stamped panel on top, keeping it central.
Next, layer the plaid strip of Designer Series Paper across the bottom of the stamped panel, about 1/8" (0.5 cm) above the bottom edge leaving even borders at each end.
Attach 3 Stampin' Dimensionals to the back of your stamped banner.
Layer the banner above the plaid strip, about 1/4" (0.7cm) above the bottom edge.
And three clusters of 3 Red Rhinestones as shown.
Attach the message panel to the inside right of the card.
Your card is now complete - sit back and admire your handiwork!
DON'T FORGET - if you want to sell your cards, the '(c) Stampin' UP!' needs to be clearly marked on the back. The easiest way to do this is with the stamp included in either the 'Make A Difference' or 'Crafting Forever' stamp set. For more details on the Stampin' UP! Angel Policy, see Page 179 of the 2018/19 Annual Catalogue.
