T oday my mom would have turned 86. Every few years her birthday falls on Mother's Day. This year is one of those years so today I'm dedicating this birthday card to my mom. I love you and miss you dearly.
Project Recipe
Cut the Night of Navy card stock to 5-1/2 x 8-1/2" for the card base and score at 4-1/4" on the long side.
Using the Dainty Diamonds 3D Embossing Folder, emboss the front of the card. With dense designs, there may be some cracks on the embossed card stock. To prevent this, break the fibers in the card stock before embossing by spritzing lightly with water or alcohol or bending and curling against the edge of a table. For best results, run 3D Embossing Folders through the Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine spine first.
Cut a strip of Basic White card stock to 1/2 x 5-1/2" and adhere it vertically to the left front of the card.
Cut a 1-3/4 x 4-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and adhere it horizontally to the front of the card about an inch from the bottom.
Cut a 1/4 x 4-1/4" strip of Mango Melody card stock, run a thin bead of Multipurpose Liquid Glue on the back, and adhere to the top of horizontal white strip on front of card as an accent.
Stamp the large daisy image using Misty Moonlight ink after stamping off onto scratch paper twice before stamping each image onto Basic White card stock. This is sometimes referred to as 2nd (actually 3rd) generation stamping. Repeat for a second image then punch them out with the Daisy punch. Layer by placing a small amount of Multipurpose Liquid Glue in the center. Color the center with the darker Mango Melody Stampin' Blend marker.
Repeat the same procedure with the medium daisy image. Make 4 images, punch them out and layer them two deep using a small amount of Multipurpose Liquid Glue at the center. Again, color the centers with the darker Mango Melody Stampin' Blend Marker.
Using Shaded Spruce ink, stamp the fern image onto the Garden Green card stock scrap then fussy cut the image.
Still using the Shaded Spruce ink, stamp the daisy stem onto the Garden Green card stock scrap and fussy cut.
Cut a 1-1/8 x 3" piece of Mango Melody card stock and stamp with the "Happy Birthday" greeting from the Sky Is The Limit stamp set centering it on the card stock. Using the Banners Pick a Punch Punch, punch the left side to create the greeting tag.
Before applying adhesive to the greenery and daisies, play around with the arrangement on the card front until it meets with your satisfaction. Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue lightly applied with a sponge to the back of the greenery. As an alternative, use a sticker maker for these pieces.
Apply glue dots to the daisies and adhere to the card front. Curl the top layer of petals to add dimension to the daisies.
Add Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to the greeting and place in desired location on the card front.
Optional: Cut a piece of Basic White card stock to 4 x 5-1/4" and adhere to inside of card. Stamp with the stem image in Shaded Spruce ink and small daisy image (stamped off twice) in Misty Moonlight. Include a personal note or stamp with an additional verse.
