A card featuring the Blossoming Basket Bundle from the 2nd Release for Sale-A-Bration 2018.
Project Recipe
Cut a piece of Whisper White Cardstock measuring 8"x6" then score on the long side at 4". Fold and burnish the scoreline.
Cut a piece of Daffodil Delight Cardstock measuring 5 3/4" x 3 3/4". Using the Basket Weave Dynamic Textured Impression Embossing Folder, run this through the Big Shot to emboss it. Stick this panel to the front of your card base.
On a piece of Watercolour Paper stamp out four flower sections from the Basket Stamp with Basic Black Archival Ink. You will use two full flower sections and two of the large, central flower. Allow these to dry fully before moving on to the next step.
Using Stampin' Classic Pads, unclip the lid and before sliding it back fully, give the top a squish to get some ink into the base, then open up the lid. Using the ink in the base and an Aqua Painter, add water to the ink to make a lighter shade. Paint the flower images as shown, starting with a light shade, then adding shadows by not adding as much water to the ink. This will give your flowers more dimension.
When your flower images are dry, fussy cut around the two flower groups, and the two large flowers. Be careful around the leaves as they can be quite fiddly and fragile. I left a little white border around the stems of the leaves and went back after cutting them out with the Old Olive ink and watercoloured the white bits so they weren't so obvious.
Using your bone folder, give the large flowers a little curve by running them between the bone folder and your thumb. Add a Stampin' Dimensional to the back of each flower in the centre - I also added a Mini Stampin' Dimensional to the 'loose' petal to give it a bit more stability, but you can leave this bit out if you want to. Attach a flower over the top of the corresponding flower on each full image.
On a piece of Whisper White Cardstock measuring about 4"x3", stamp the 'Life is a beautiful thing' sentiment from the Colorful Seasons Stamp set using Berry Burst ink. Using the plain Layering Ovals Framelits Dies number 2 die (I number mine from largest to smallest).cut this sentiment out, placing it in the centre of the oval.
From a piece of Berry Burst Cardstock cut a scalloped oval using the Number 1 Layering Ovals Framelits Die (the largest). Attach the white oval to this with liquid glue.
To build your card front, stick the ovals layer to the middle of your card using liquid glue - you may need a little more glue than usual so it sticks firmly to the embossed panel. Attach one flower arrangement to the top right of the oval panel and the other to the bottom left with liquid glue.
Finally, give all the flowers and leaves a brush over with Clear Wink of Stella, then add three Basic Rhinestones (one large and two small in a line) to the top left and bottom right corners of the embossed panel as in the photograph.
Sit back and admire your handiwork!
