Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Poppy Parade Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Granny Apple Green Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" of tiny, outline flowers and leaves on white background design from Zoo Crew 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper
- 3" x 5" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1/4" x 3-7/8" from Granny Apple Green Cardstock
Place the Zoo Crew Designer Paper rectangle on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Light Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends to color in the flower petals.
Use the Dark Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends to color in the centers of the flowers.
Use the Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends to color in the leaves.
Use the fine tip of the Light Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends to add dots of green all over the designer paper in the white spaces.
Mount the raccoon holding balloons image from the Zany Zoo Set on Block I. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white rectangle slightly above center.
Mount the "happy birthday to you" or "you're too wonderful" sentiment from the Zany Zoo Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Granny Apple Green Ink Pad. Stamp the sentiment about 1/4" below the stamped raccoon so it is centered side to side.
Pick out the largest squared off diamond shape die from the Nested Essentials Dies. Put it on top of the stamped raccoon image and sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over everything. Run through the machine. Keep the scrap.
Place the raccoon and sentiment cut out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Light and Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin' Blends to color in one of the balloons.
Use the Light and Dark Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends to color in the remaining balloons.
Use the Dark Basic Black Stampin' Blends to color in the raccoon's mask, paws, and tail stripes.
Use the Light Basic Black and Light and Dark Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends to color in the rest of the raccoon, but leave his belly and eyes white.
Use the Light and Dark Smoky Slate Stampin' Blends to color a shadow below the raccoon.
Use the Light and Dark Pool Party Stampin' Blends to outline the raccoon and balloons.
Use the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends to blend and soften the shadow below the raccoon and the Pool Party outlining the raccoon and balloons and to remove any unwanted color.
Adhere the colored raccoon and sentiment cut out to the colored designer paper on the left side as shown so it is centered top to bottom and about 1/2" from the left edge.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the Granny Apple Green strip to the layered designer paper/cut out rectangle so it is centered between the bottom of the sentiment and the bottom of the cut out as shown.
Adhere the designer paper with cardstock attached to the center of the Granny Apple Green rectangle and then to the front of the Poppy Parade card.
Pick out the large, single flower die from the Zany Zoo Dies. Put it on top of the scrap of white on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Place the flower cut out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Dark Poppy Parade Stampin' Blends to color the flower cut out.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the colored flower cut out to the front of the card so it is centered over the green strip on the left side of the raccoon cut out as shown.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a large Lemon Lime Twist gem from the sheet of Tinsel Gems Four-Pack making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the center of the flower cut out.
