P retty Easter card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and Laser-Cut Specialty Paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Powder Pink Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Flirty Flamingo Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Whisper White Cardstock
- piece with lacy oval cut out in the center from Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper
WITHOUT adhering, lay the piece of Delightfully Detailed Laser-Cut Specialty Paper on top of the white rectangle so it is centered. You will be using it as a stencil/mask.
Tip: It is tempting to want to use a piece of washi tape to hold the paper in place, but I have found that sometimes washi tape tears the cardstock when removed from white cardstock. So, I recommend just holding the paper in place by hand.
Rub a Sponge Dauber or Stamping Sponge quarter across the open Powder Pink Ink Pad to get some ink on the dauber/sponge. Then, lightly rub/daub the inky dauber/sponge across the center of the stencil/mask created by the Laser-Cut Paper. Get more ink on the dauber/sponge as needed. Carefully remove the Laser-Cut Paper.
Tip: Cut a Stamping Sponge into quarters. This makes it easier to control the sponge when using it and gives you more sponge pieces to work with.
Tip: I just clean my daubers/sponge pieces when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
If you got some ink on the outer edges of the white rectangle, you can just add more using the dauber/sponge piece so it looks like you meant to put color there.
Mount the large group of two daffodils and one bud image from the You're Inspiring Set on Block E. Ink it up with the StazOn Ink Pad. Stamp it on the stenciled white layer so the bottoms of the stems/leaves go off the bottom edge and the flowers are inside the stenciled area as far to the left side as possible.
Mount the single-line sentiment of choice from the You're Inspiring Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Flirty Flamingo Ink Pad. Stamp it inside the stenciled oval to the right of the flowers.
Squeeze the lid of the Flirty Flamingo Ink Pad to get a pool of ink in the lid. Open the pad but leave the lid exposed. Pick up some ink from the lid using the Blender Pen. Color in the trumpets of the flowers and the bud. Get more ink on the Blender Pen as needed.
Tip: Stroke the Blender Pen in one direction only. If you go back and forth, then the cardstock could start to pill and tear.
Tip When you are done clean the tip of the Blender Pen by scribbling on Grid Paper until no more color is coming off.
Adhere the stenciled and stamped white rectangle to the Flirty Flamingo rectangle and then to the front of the Powder Pink card.
Cut an 8" piece of the Flirty Flamingo 1/8" ribbon from the All My Love Ribbon Combo Pack.
Tie a small bow in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the bow to the front of the card near the bottom of the stenciled area where the stems go across it.
