inal pic of finished card..love this pretty spring flower!
Can't believe I forgot to mention it but for the final touch I ran just the white cardstock through the Seaside embossing folder before attaching to the black cardstock layer then the folded cardstock base. It really adds a very nice finishing touch with minimal effort.
Project Recipe
Use Tuxedo Black ink to stamp floral image and desired sentiment on front panel of card...I used "kind thoughts" but it makes a great bday or Easter card too! See photo above. Photo on the side shows how it looks on plain white. This is with calypso Coral before blending.
Using your preferred shade of SU alcohol blenders, color over the stamped black accent lines with the darker of the two shades then use Old Olive to do the same for the stems and leaves. BEFORE blending, use the alcohol blending Daffodil. Delight
dark marker to color the stamens\pollenn center of each bloom.
Avoiding yellow in center of bloom, use the lighter shade of your color duo to blend over the image, staying away from the yellow.
Repeat with stems and leaves using Old Olive.
Dark first, then blending with light. After it dries you can give it a quick once over using clear Wink of Stella to give it some shimmer.
Here is the final look after blending..looks great in almost any color!
For this project I choose to put it on a black layer with an Old Olive base card to pull out the leaf color and allow it to look great with any shade flower. I also tried mounting it on a black layer then layered onto a folded white card base for the same reason. It would be hard to choose a bad color either way.
