S oft and pretty Christmas card using Stampin' Up! products and poppin' pastels technique.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Night Of Navy Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 3-5/8" x 5" from Poppy Parade Cardstock
- 3-1/2" x 5" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 3" from Poppy Parade Cardstock
Mount the two birds on a branch with berries image from the Winterly Tree Tops Set on Block E. Ink it up with the VersaMark Ink Pad. Stamp it on the top of the vertical vanilla rectangle so it is centered side to side and the top of the top bird is about 1/4" from the top of the rectangle.
Pull out the Poppy Parade pastel stick from the Soft Pastels Assortment. Lightly rub one end of the stick over the VersaMark stamped berries. Tap and blow off excess dust.
Pull out the Night Of Navy pastel stick from the Soft Pastels Assortment. Lightly rub one end of the stick over the VersaMark stamped birds. Tap and blow off excess dust.
Pull out the Mossy Meadow pastel stick from the Soft Pastels Assortment. Lightly rub one end of the stick over the VersaMark stamped branches. Tap and blow off excess dust.
Use a tissue or paper towel to blend the colors and remove excess dust. Add more color using the pastel sticks as desired and blend it in as well.
Tear about 1/2" from the bottom edge of the stamped and chalked vanilla rectangle using your fingers.
Tear about 1/4" from the bottom edge of the large Poppy Parade rectangle using your fingers.
Adhere the stamped, chalked, and torn vanilla rectangle to the torn Poppy Parade rectangle.
Cut a 15" piece of the Night Of Navy thread from the Natural Tones Linen Thread.
Fold the thread into thirds. Lay the folded thread across the bottom of the matted vanilla rectangle about 1-1/4" from the bottom. Fold the ends of the folded thread over and secure in place on the back with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape pieces and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the Poppy Parade rectangle. Adhere the rectangle to the front of the Night Of Navy card.
As you are ready to stamp using the Greetings Of The Season Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the "Season's Greetings" script sentiment from the Greetings Of The Season Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Night Of Navy Ink Pad. Stamp it near the top of the remaining, vertical Poppy Parade rectangle.
Pick out the die from the Countryside Corners Dies that cuts out a 1-7/8" x 3-1/2" rectangle with sharp angled corners. Put it on top of the stamped sentiment rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the sentiment side to side and the sentiment is near the top of the die. Run through the machine.
Use your fingers to tear off the bottom of the die cut out so it is about 1-3/4" long.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment die cut out to the front of the card so it is centered over the thread on the left side of the card as shown.
Cut an 10" piece of the Night Of Navy thread included in the Natural Tones Linen Thread.
Tie the thread around the thread already on the card front on the right side as shown using a small bow. Trim the ends.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 1 small and 2 large vanilla gems from a sheet of Earth Tones Shimmer Gems making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the card front around the stamped birds on the rectangle as shown.
