P retty gift box inspired by a Make & Take project from Creativity Now using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- 4" x 5" from Basic White Cardstock
- 7/8" x 3-7/8" from Pecan Pie Cardstock
- 2" square from Copper Clay Cardstock
Working on some Grid Paper or the Silicone Craft Sheet to protect your work surface, scribble a thin line of the copper Metallic Enamel Effects Basics on the lid of a box from the Scalloped Gift Card Boxes. Use the bottom of one of the Palette Knives to spread the enamel effects across the lid in a thin layer until happy with the effect. Add more enamel basics as needed. Set aside to dry.
Tip: Clean the Palette Knife off immediately. I just wiped it clean with a baby wipe.
Mount the leafy swag image from the Winterly Tree Tops Set on Block E. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it twice on the white rectangle leaving room between the images so you can cut them out. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time.
Place the stamped swags on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface.
Rub a Small Blending Brush across the open Mossy Meadow Ink Pad to get it inky. Rub off some of the excess ink on Grid Paper. Very lightly rub the inky brush over the stamped swags. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed.
Tip: I just clean my Blending Brushes when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Pick out the matching swag die from the Winterly Tree Tops Dies. Put it on top of one of the stamped and blended images on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine. Repeat with the other image.
Unlock the Happy Labels Pick A Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching areas, slide one short edge of the Pecan Pie strip into the side of the punch with the smaller scallops as far as it will go and get it centered. Punch. Repeat with the other end of the strip.
Mount the "a friend like you brings me happiness" sentiment from the Winterly Tree Tops Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Copper Clay Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the punched Pecan Pie strip.
Pick out both solid, single pine bough dies from the Winterly Tree Tops Dies. Put them on top of the Copper Clay square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Fold together the box when it is dry. Tuck the scalloped front flap inside of the box so it stays closed.
Adhere the two blended swag cut outs to the top of the box so they are centered side to side and form a wreath.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment strip to the top of the box so it is centered over the wreath.
Use Mini Glue Dots on the bottom of the pine bough cut outs stems to adhere them to the top of the box as shown so they overlap each other and the upper right side of the sentiment strip.
Cut an 16" long piece of the Copper Clay thread included in the Natural Tones Linen Thread.
Fold the thread in half. Tie a small bow in the center of the folded thread. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the thread bow to the top of the box as shown at the bottom left side of the sentiment strip.
Working on a scrap piece of paper, gently squeeze the copper Metallic Enamel Effects Basics to make sure there are no air bubbles in the tip. Then, gently squeeze the copper enamel basics onto the box lid to make dots as shown.
Set the box aside to dry.
Fill the box with treats and give it to someone to make their day!
