M y version of a Make & Take project from Creativity Now using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Mossy Meadow Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 3-5/8" x 5-1/8" from Basic White Cardstock
- 3" x 3-1/2" from Smoky Slate Cardstock
- 2-1/2" x 3-1/4" from Mossy Meadow Cardstock
Place the interior cardstock piece cut out from Smoky Slate Cardstock for the previous project using the large, open frame with pine boughs die from the Winterly Tree Tops Dies on top of the white rectangle so it is centered.
Place the layered cardstock pieces on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface.
Rub a Small Blending Brush across the open Mossy Meadow Ink Pad to get it inky. Rub off some of the excess ink on Grid Paper. Very lightly rub the inky brush over the layered cardstock pieces. Get more ink on the Blending Brush as needed. Carefully remove the stencil of the interior cardstock cut out and recycle it.
Tip: I just clean my Blending Brushes when I'm done using them by running them under water until no more color is coming off. Then, I let them air dry. They may be stained, but they are clean enough to use with any color of ink in the future.
Adhere the stenciled white rectangle to the front of the Mossy Meadow card so it is centered.
Mount the two birds on a branch with berries image from the Winterly Tree Tops Set on Block E. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Smoky Slate rectangle.
Pick out the matching, open, two birds on a branch with berries die from the Winterly Tree Tops Dies. Put it on top of the stamped birds on a branch image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Tip: I find it better to cut out images before coloring them. That way, if the die slips you haven't wasted time and ink coloring the image.
Color the berries, beaks, and eyes with the Cajun Craze pencil from the Watercolor Pencils Assortment 2.
Color the birds with the Coastal Cabana pencil from the Watercolor Pencils Assortment 2.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the colored birds cut out to the front of the card so it is centered side to side and is about 1-1/8" from the top.
Mount the "thinking of you always" sentiment from the Winterly Tree Tops Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Mossy Meadow horizontal strip near one side or the other leaving room to punch the sentiment out.
Unlock the Heartfelt Hexagon Punch. Hold the punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the stamped sentiment into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the stamped sentiment punch out to the front of the card as shown so it overlaps the bottom left side of the birds cut out and the left edge is even with the interior left edge of the stenciled frame.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 5 small pearls from the sheet of Flat Adhesive-Backed Pearls making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the front of the card near the colored berries on the birds cut out as shown.
Cut an 20" long piece of the Copper Clay thread included in the Natural Tones Linen Thread.
Fold the thread in half. Tie a small bow in the center of the folded thread. Trim the ends so you have long tails.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the thread bow to the front of the card as shown in the top left corner of the stenciled leafy frame.
