M y version of a Make & Take from Creativity Now using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Misty Moonlight Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 3-7/8" x 5-3/8" from Smoky Slate Cardstock
- 3-1/2" x 5" from Basic White Cardstock
- 3/4" x 4" from Misty Moonlight Cardstock
Pick out the large, open frame with pine boughs die from the Winterly Tree Tops Dies. Put it on top of the Smoky Slate rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Note: You are using the large, leafy frame for this project. Save the interior cardstock cut out to use as a stencil/mask on the next project.
Unlock the Happy Labels Pick A Punch. Slide one short edge of the Misty Moonlight strip into the right side of the punch (the side of the punch with the smaller scallops) as far as it will go and get it centered. Punch.
Mount the "thinking of you always" sentiment from the Winterly Tree Tops Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it on the right side of the punched, thin Misty Moonlight strip so the punched edge is on the right side and the sentiment is about 1/2" from the punched edge.
Wrap some Night Of Navy thread from the Natural Tones Line Thread a couple of times around the left end of the sentiment stamped strip and tie in place with a small bow. The thread should be about 3/4" from the left edge. Trim the ends of the thread.
Adhere the punched, stamped sentiment strip with thread attached to the bottom left side of the horizontal Smoky Slate leafy frame so the left edges are even and the bottom edge of the sentiment strip is about 1/2" from the bottom of the frame.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the pine bough frame cut out with sentiment strip attached to the front of the Misty Moonlight card.
Mount the single bird with a branch of berries in his mount from the Winterly Tree Tops Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it on the bottom of the vertical white rectangle.
Mount the leafy swag image from the Winterly Tree Tops Set on Block E. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it on the top of the vertical white rectangle.
Pick out the matching, open, bird on a branch with berries in his mouth die and the matching, swag die from the Winterly Tree Tops Dies. Put them on top of the stamped images on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so they are centered over the images. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the machine.
Tip: I find it better to cut out images before coloring them. That way, if the die slips you haven't wasted time and ink coloring the image.
Color the leaves of the swag image with the Night Of Navy pencil from the Watercolor Pencils Assortment 2.
Color the berries on the swag image and on the branch in the bird's mouth with the Cherry Cobbler pencil from the Watercolor Pencils Assortment 2.
Color the wings, tail, beak, and highlights on the belly and head of the bird with the Cajun Craze pencil from the Watercolor Pencils Assortment 2.
Color the rest of the bird with the Crushed Curry pencil from the Watercolor Pencils Assortment 2.
Adhere the colored swag cut out to the front of the card as shown so it is tucked under the top of the sentiment strip and the swag is pointing up.
Adhere the colored bird cut out to the front of the card as shown so the feet are tucked under the top of the sentiment strip and it is centered over the swag.
Use the Light Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends to color three small Flat Adhesive-Backed Pearls while they are on the sheet. Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up the three colored pearls making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the front of the card around the bird and swag cut outs as shown.
