P retty thinking of you card based on a Make & Take from Creativity Now 2024 using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Copper Clay Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 3-1/2" x 4" from Crumb Cake Cardstock
- 4" x 4-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
- 3/4" x 3-3/4" from Basic White Cardstock
Fold the Copper Clay card in half. Place the folded card on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface.
Mount the pussy willows branch image from the Winterly Tree Tops Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Copper Clay Ink Pad. Stamp it randomly all over the front of the Copper Clay card. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time. Change the orientation of the stamp each time. Let some of the images go off the edges of the card. Clean the stamp using the Simply Shammy and/or Stampin' Mist Stamp Cleaner and Stampin' Scrub and put it away for now.
Insert the Crumb Cake rectangle into the Birch Wood 3D Embossing Folder so the lines are horizontal on the vertical rectangle. Use the line printed on the front flap of the folder to make sure it is lined up straight. Place the folder with the cardstock inside on the platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine and run through the machine.
Adhere the dry embossed Crumb Cake layer to the front of the stamped card in the center.
Mount the "thinking of you always" sentiment from the Winterly Tree Tops Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Copper Clay Ink Pad. Stamp it on the right side of the thin white strip as close to the right edge as possible.
Wrap some Copper Clay thread from the Natural Tones Line Thread a couple of times around the left end of the sentiment stamped white strip and tie in place with a small bow. The thread should be about 3/8" from the left edge. Trim the ends of the thread.
Adhere the sentiment strip with thread attached to the front of the card as shown so it is centered over the top of the dry embossed Crumb Cake layer about 1/4" from the top.
Mount the two birds on a branch with berries image from the Winterly Tree Tops Set on Block E. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it on the remaining white rectangle leaving room to stamp three pussy willow branches and cut everything out.
Mount the pussy willows branch image from the Winterly Tree Tops Set back on Block B. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it three times on the remaining white rectangle around the previously stamped birds on a branch image leaving room to cut everything out. Remember to re-ink the stamp each time.
Pick out the matching, open, two birds on a branch with berries die and the matching, open pussy willows branch from the Winterly Tree Tops Dies. Put them on top of the stamped birds on a branch image and one of the pussy willows branch images on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so they are centered over the images. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the machine. Use the pussy willows branch die to cut out the two remaining pussy willows images.
Tip: I find it better to cut out images before coloring them. That way, if the die slips you haven't wasted time and ink coloring the image.
Place the birds on a branch cut out and the pussy willow branch cut outs on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Dark and Light Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends to color in the birds' heads, wings, tails, and highlights on the bellies. Make the red darker on the bird on the left as shown.
Use the Natural Tones Light (SU1000) Stampin' Blends to color in the rest of the birds and blend the colors together. Also use it to color in the tips of the pussy willow branches.
Use the Dark and Light Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends to color in the berries.
Use the Bronze Stampin' Blends to color in the branches of all images.
Use the Color Lifter as needed to remove excess ink.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the colored birds on a branch cut out to the front of the card as shown so it is centered on the Crumb Cake rectangle below the sentiment strip.
Use Mini Glue Dots on the bottoms of the colored pussy willow branches to adhere them to the front of the card so they overlap each other and the sentiment strip to the left of the sentiment and the bottoms are tucked under the thread. Use Paper Snips Scissors as needed to trim off excess branch at the bottoms.
Use the Bronze Stampin' Blends to color three small Flat Adhesive-Backed Pearls while they are on the sheet. Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up the three colored pearls making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the front of the card on the Crumb Cake layer around the birds on the branch cut out as shown.
